elspec distribute Cryogenic Coaxial Cables
Cryogenic Cables at elspec group Coaxial cables with an outer conductor of stainless steel are commonly used in systems experiencing temperatures ranging above or below -55 C to +150 C. Cryogenic systems are sensitive to heat transfer into the Dewar chamber and rely on the relatively low heat transfer characteristics of certain stainless steel alloys. Stainless Steel Semi Rigid Cables with Bimetallic Construction The higher attenuation of these cables can be offset by using a special bimetallic construction pioneered by Precision Tube Company which effectively has the same loss as copper. This utilizes a thin skin of copper immediately adjacent to the dielectric which acts as the primary conductor at microwave frequencies. This will have a slightly higher heat conduction than stainless steel alone but must be considered if preservation of signal strength is a concern. Semi Rigid Cable with Saintless Steel Construction A Semi Rigid cable is unique because it is easily bent into it s finished shape, and still maintains this shape after beding. This property makes it ideal for automated bending equipment. The benefits: it retains the shape after shaping low VSWR high durability Flexible High Performance Coaxial Cables Storm Flex047, Storm Flex047 CRYO and Storm Flex 034 have a level of performance that is comparable to MIL-C-17 semi rigid cable, yet the handling resembles RG flexible cables. The benefits: low leakage low VSWR true flexibility high durability lower weight

The cables at the second diagram are build with silver plated stainless steel for the centre contact and the shilding.

MORE KNOWLEDGE WITH elspec group Connect coaxial cable adapter correctly with torque wrench. Coaxial measurement cables must usually provide precise measurement results on the Network Analyzer. A torque wrench is essential to ensure that the lifespan of the cable is as long as possible, and that the measurements are accurate. It prevents over-twisting and thus prevents damage to the cable.
