Photoshop 1 Adjustments Histogram Panel Dodge Tool Lightens pixels. Burn Tool Darkens pixels Sponge Tool Desaturates pixels. Shadows Midtones Highlights Shows distribution of tonal levels in the image. The higher the peak the more pixels in that range. Clipping Warning Indicates that pixel detail is clipping, with 100% black or 0% white pixels. Clipping is occurring in the highlights of the histogram shown. Image > Adjustments Brightness/Contrast: Makes simple adjustments to Brightness and Contrast of image. Levels: Adjusts color and tonal balance in Shadow, Highlight and Midtone areas. Curves: Similar to Levels, allowing more precise control over particular tonal ranges. Exposure: Simulates camera exposure controls. Hue/Saturation: Adjusts Hue (color) separate from Saturation (intensity), as well as Lightness (brightness). Color Balance: Changes overall mixture of colors Black & White: Allows greater control when converting an image to Grayscale. Note: your image will still be RGB, but totally desaturated after use. Photo Filter: Simulates a camera filter. Channel Mixer: Creative color mixing using Channels. Invert: Inverts brightness of pixels, creating a negative effect. Posterize: Reduces the number of tonal levels. Threshold: Converts image to a high-contrast black & white image. Gradient Map: Colorizes an image using a Gradient Blend.
