Create a Thank you Teacher gift for the end of the year.
Attached is the Studio file for the gift. Step 1: - For this project, you will need: - Chalk Board Roll of vinyl (you can buy this from JG Electronics); - four thin planks of about 360mm x 70mm (I used the planks of an old crate I found); - Cardboard; - I made the apples out of the roll of leather material that JG Electronics sells, it is much stronger and will last for a very long time. They sell it in white and black but I sublimated the white in the colours I need for my project. You can use cardboard if you want. - Some wood screws - A hardboard for the backing of about 500mm x 360mm - Glue
Step 2: - Cut the white leather material in this sizes: - 4 pieces of 140mm x140mm for the 4 apples - 4 Pieces of 140mm x140mm for the white back of the apple - 3 pieces of 140mm x 40 for the 3 pencils - 2 piece of about 100 x 100mm for the apple leave and the little stick of the apple Step 3: - On your computer, drag blocks in Corel Draw or whatever program you are using. The blocks must be the size of these in step to above. Then you can colour each block as follows: - 4 pieces of 140mm x140mm for the 4 apples (this will be red) - 3 pieces of 140mm x 40 for the 3 pencils (this will be one red, one brown, on green) you can choose the colours of your pencils. - 2 piece of about 100 x 100mm for the apple leave and the little stick of the apple (this will be one green for the leave and one piece brown for the stick of the apple) - Print the blocks on your sublimation paper (the paper you use for mug, tiles, coaster or mousepad printing) - Press each colour block on the white pieces of leather. Step 4: - Take your first block, the green and put it on your cutting mat to cut out the 4 leaves.
-Take the brown block and cut out the little sticks for the apples -Take your pencil coulers and cut out the pencils. Note that I made a black backing for the pencils as well Step 5: - For the apple s, you will take the white pieces and only cut out the 4 white backings as above. This is the backings without the stitching holes effect. - Then on the red squares you will cut out the top pieces with the stitching holes effect as above - Then stick the red on top of the white backing. - Glue the little stick on and then the leave on top off that, as above pictures
Step 6: - Glue the colour parts of the pencils to the black backing as above. Step 7: - For the bus, I have a black backing again. - Stick all the yellow pieces of the bus on first like above. -Now you can stick all the windows, lights, stop sign and all the rest. Remember for the stop sign, the first shape is red, then white and then red again. Now you can glue on the word STOP on top of the last red.
Step 8: -Get your chalk vinyl ready. Cut the vinyl in the same size as the hardboard backing. You can now stick the vinyl on top of the hardboard. (size of hardboard in step 1) - Pack your planks on a table in the correct shape, but upside down. Put your hardboard on top of the planks and screw it together.
Step 9: - Stick the apples on the corners of the frame, I glued it over the lines of where the planks connect so that it is hidden. - Stick the pencils on the sides - Stick the name of your teacher at the top area between the apples - Glue the bus in the middle of the bottom 2 apples, all like above.
