Let s Get Started The SAT is coming up, and we want to help you prepare. There s a lot you can do right now to succeed on the SAT, and this toolkit contains everything you need to register and prepare for the test this spring. Why should I take the SAT this spring? The SAT is accepted by every college in the U.S. and is an important part of the college application process in your senior year. By testing in the spring, you keep your options open for improving your score. Most students who test more than once see their scores go up.
3 Steps to Get Ready The SAT makes it easy for you to show your best work. Now is the time to get started. Use this checklist to stay organized. We ve included some helpful tips and tools for each step on the tabs inside this folder. You should try to complete these three steps within a week of getting this toolkit. 1. REGISTER Registration dates for this spring are right around the corner! The registration deadline for the May SAT is April 7. For the June SAT, it s May 9. 2. LINK The College Board worked with Khan Academy to give you free, personalized SAT study tools all you have to do is link your Khan Academy account with your PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, PSAT/NMSQT, or SAT scores. 3. PRACTICE Just like playing a sport or practicing an instrument, you have to practice if you want to do your best on the SAT.

REGISTER REGISTER IN 30 minutes COMPLETE BY April 7 for May/May 9 for June Your school offers two dates for the SAT : TEST DATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE LATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE * May 6 April 7 April 25 June 3 May 9 May 24 After you pick a date, here s what you need in order to register. 1 30 minutes 2 Your College Board username and password 3 4 5 A credit card to pay the fee or a fee waiver An internet-connected laptop, desktop, or tablet A photo of yourself to upload Once you have everything you need, go to sat.org/register-today to register. For fee waiver eligibility, talk to your school counselor or go to sat.org/getawaiver. *Please note there is an additional $28 fee for late registration. Late registration fee may not apply for fee-waiver eligible students.
2. LINK LINK ACCOUNT IN 5 minutes COMPLETE BY April 8 Join more than 3 million students who are preparing for the SAT using a free, personalized tool: Offcial SAT Practice on Khan Academy. Here s how to get started: 1. Log in to Khan Academy Go to sat.org/kapractice and sign in to your Khan Academy account, or create one. 2. Link your accounts Agree to link your Khan Academy and College Board accounts. 3. Send your scores Log in using your College Board username and password, and hit Send to get personalized study questions.
3. PRACTICE PRACTICE AT LEAST COMPLETE BY 9 hours Test day The more you practice for the SAT, the more confident you ll feel on test day. Here s how to make sure you get enough practice: 1. Customize your study questions Because you linked your Khan Academy and College Board accounts, you can use Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy to focus on the areas you need the most help with. 2. Set a goal You should aim to study for at least 9 hours before test day. My goal is to study for hours before I take the SAT on. 3. Choose your practice schedule May 6 / June 3 Go to sat.org/kapractice and click Choose Your Practice Schedule to make a plan to achieve your goal.
