Remove the Band Clamps (8) from both Heads () of the actuator by removing Screws () and backing out the Center Set Screw (0) a couple turns. Carefully lift the Dust Band () from the slot in each Head () and remove any Shims (9) located under the Band () in the Head slot. Retain the shims for reassembly. Remove Screws () to release the Carrier () from the Nut Bracket (). Slide the Carrier () clear of the Nut Bracket (). Remove Nut Bracket End Caps () from both ends of the Nut Bracket (). The Dust Band () can now be removed from the actuator. NOTE: If removal of the Bearing Rail (7a) or Bearing Blocks (7b) is necessary, contact the factory prior to removal for specific instructions.. Nut () from Leadscrew (). Remove Screws (9) from both Heads (). Remove the NonDrive End Head () and the Drive Head/Leadscrew assembly. If necessary, the Nut Bracket Assembly () can now be removed from the Leadscrew () and the Band Ramps (0) may also be removed from the Nut Bracket Assembly () if required. Ball Nut style: Caution is required if removal of the Nut is necessary. Contact the factory for available parts and procedures. Plastic Nut style: Plastic Nuts are factory pinned into the Nut Bracket and cannot be removed. If Nuts are worn, a new Nut Bracket Assembly () must be ordered. If Drive End Head () and Bearing () must be removed from the Leadscrew (), contact the factory prior to removal for specific instructions. GENERAL CYLINDER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS. INSTALL LEADSCREW ASSEMBLY AND CARRIER. Install the Band Ramps (0) to the Nut Bracket () with Screws (). From the Drive End, install the Head/Leadscrew/Nut Bracket assembly into the Tube () making sure the Bearing Rail (7a) is oriented on the left side of the Tube (). With the Bumper (9) and Nut Spacer (8) in place, position the NonDrive End Head () over the Leadscrew Bearing () and loosely install Screws (9) into the Head (). Install the Drive End Screws (9) loosely into the Drive End Head ().. INSTALL DUST BAND AND CARRIER. Position Carrier () over the Bearing Blocks (7b) and the Nut Bracket () and install all Fasteners () and leave them loose at this time. By hand, load the Carrier () to keep it tight down on the surface of the Bearing Blocks (7b) and tighten the CarriertoNut Bracket Fasteners (). Tighten the CarriertoBearing Block Fasteners ().. PERFORM HEAD ALIGNMENT AND FINAL ASSEMBLY. NOTE: Custom tooling is used at the factory to align the Heads () to the Tube () to maintain parallelism between the top of the Head () and top of the Tube (). This is critical to performance and longevity of the Dust Band (). In the following steps it will be necessary to measure parallelism between the Head () and Tube (). Move Carrier Assembly () to Drive End of Tube () and tighten one of the Head Bolts (9). Support the actuator on the Tube () such that the Head () is free to float while tightening the Head Fasteners (9). Move Carrier Assembly () to NonDrive End of Tube () and tighten these Head Bolts (). Move Carrier Assembly () back to the DriveEnd of Tube () and loosen the Fastener (9) that was previously tightened and then tighten all Head Fasteners (9 & ). Apply Loctite to Hex Nut () and thread onto the Leadscrew () and torque to 8 inlbs. Install Cover Plate () with Screws ().. INSTALL BAND CLAMPS. Examine the interface between the Dust Band () surface of the Tube () and the clamping surface of each Head (). This should be flush. It may be necessary to install Shims (9) in the pocket of the Head () in order to make flush. Position the Carrier () near the Drive End. Position the Band () in the pocket over any previously installed Shims (9) and install the Band Clamp (8) with the two Cap Screws (). Lastly, tighten down the Center Set Screw (0). Position the Carrier () near the NonDrive End and repeat the steps to install the other Band Clamp (8). REVERSE PARALLEL DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS. Remove End Caps (). Release tension on belt by breaking loose the Motor Fasteners (7).. Remove RP Cover (9).. The Belt () can now be removed and the Motor can be removed as well.. Remove both Drive Pulley () and Driven Pulley () from their respective shafts.. Remove the RP Case (9) from the Head () by removing the RP Case (9) to Head Fasteners (8). REVERSE PARALLEL ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: Apply Loctite # to all fasteners upon installation. Install RP Case (9) to the Head () with Cap Screws (8). Remove the Cover (9) and finish tightening all Fasteners (8) attaching the RP Case (9) to the Head ().. Install the Motor to the RP Case (9) with Fasteners (7). Do not tighten the Fasteners (7) at this time.. Install the Driven () and Drive Pulley () as needed. Tighten each Pulley ( & ) to its shaft with either Trantorque ( or ) or Collar Clamp (). If Trantorque ( or ), utilize torque wrench to apply 7 inlbs.. Locate the Belt () over the Pulleys ( & ). 7. Verify that there is clearance between the inside of the RP Case (9) and each Pulley ( & ). Verify that the Pulleys ( & ) are aligned to each other. 8. Position the Cover (9) in mating slot of the RP Case (9) and install the Socket Head Cap Screw (8) to hold in place. Take care not to over tighten. If the Cover (9) is deflected it can interfere with the Leadscrew (). 9. Tension the Belt () by pulling the Motor away from the drive shaft with appropriate force from chart below while the actuator is oriented in a position such that weight of the Motor is not either directly adding or subtracting belt tension. Tighten the Motor Fasteners (7) while this force is applied to the Motor.
