About WEOP The Women s Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project Inc. (WEOP), is a 501(c)(3) agency founded in 1999 with the mission of developing and implementing programs and services that promote the economic sustainability of women. Our Mission is to promote the economic advancement of women utilizing technology based solutions, educational resources, training and entrepreneurship opportunities. WEOP clients are Women Owned Small Businesses, consultants, contractors, solopreneurs and women in nontraditional occupations. The organization has successfully served thousands of women annually since its inception, while also increasing its reach to women globally through online portals and social media platforms. Our successful expansion is due to spearheading innovative initiatives that leverage the use of technology. WEOP s programming includes specialized Business Contract Professional training (BCP), business round tables, peer mentoring sessions, financial planning and business assessments. WEOP is also a membership-based organization and launched women2contract.com an online portal featuring information related to contracting in the public and private sectors. WEOP has established strategic partnerships with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Fulton County Economic Development Division, Department of Labor/Women s Bureau, Atlanta Technical College, Lift Fund, Georgia Power and The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Georgia State University. Additionally, the agency has received financial support from the Georgia Power Foundation, Wells Fargo Foundation, Microsoft Foundation, Hewlett Packard Foundation, Turner Broadcasting System (TBS), Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), Fifth Third Bank, PNC Bank, JE Dunn Construction, Dentons, GAP Foundation, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Non-Profit Foundation. As a community-based organization providing the community with innovative programming for the last two decades. WEOP has closely researched and studied reports on the economic impact of women owned businesses and selfemployment trends related to women, especially women of color. WEOP has been recognized by the Atlanta Business League (ABL) in the non-traditional business category; awarded Proclamations from the City of East Point and Fulton County Board of Commissioners; received statewide recognition as a Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Pathfinder Organization; awarded the Audrey Nelson Community Achievement Award from the National Community Development Association (NCDA); featured articles in Essence Magazine and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
