AVGhost: A Board Game Played in the Dark Co-operative game played in the dark, using only your miniatures' flashlights. Includes audio/video elements for full immersion. AVGhost is a paranormal investigation co-operative tabletop game for 2 to 4 players. You must work together to find pieces of evidence, listen to Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) recordings, and then if you survive watch the video that shows the final resolution of the case. And you have to do it all in the dark, aided only by your miniature investigators' LED flashlights. Meanwhile, the board is filling up with nasty ghosts and your flashlight battery is dying with every turn. If that wasn't scary enough, there's even a soundtrack CD included to further enhance the creepy atmosphere. EVPs and videos can be accessed through either an included DVD or an Internet-connected smartphone or tablet via a QR code reader app.
How to Play In AVGhost, you must solve a paranormal case in order to win the game. Each case has 4 different endings, coded by color. You will have to move between hordes of ghosts in order to discover the truth behind the case. To do this, you must find pieces of evidence, listen to EVPs, and watch the final video. But it's not as simple as finding just these items To listen to EVPs, you need to have the Recorder and Cassette Tape in your inventory. To watch a video, you need the Camera and 8mm Tape. You can only see the video after collecting 5 pieces of evidence and listening to 3 EVPs. Your flashlight is your primary weapon against ghosts. You can also pick up other items to help you stay alive. Ghosts move towards the nearest light, each according to its own type's rules. They also have their own event cards, so beware You must stay together if you want to win. Unless one of you would like to be a decoy, perhaps? The game ends successfully when you have collected 5 pieces of evidence, heard 3 EVP recordings, and have the Camera and 8mm Tape items in your inventory. Then it's time to watch the final video and learn the terrifying truth behind your paranormal investigation
Light Is Your Life From the moment you start investigating, you and your team will have to defend yourselves from ghosts while trying to keep your flashlights from dying. Because when all of your lights go out, you lose the game With each move, your flashlight battery runs down, indicated by a track on your player board. When your battery indicator reaches empty, you must turn off your flashlight. When this happens, you can either exchange batteries with one of your teammates, or try to find new batteries. Since ghosts are attracted to light, you may find it to your advantage to turn yours off in order to escape. But be careful, because if everyone's lights are out at the same time even for just a moment you lose Beware of Ghosts Ghosts emerge on the board when the Ghost Die is rolled. There are 4 different types of ghost, and each type has its own movement rules and attacks. This same die also determines the number of ghosts that will emerge. (You can choose the difficulty level of the game in relation to the number of players.) Big Miniatures The player miniatures are approximately 2.2 inches tall (5.5 cm). They feature LED flashlights with batteries and switches in their backpacks. (The miniatures pictured are prototypes, and the final versions will be shipped unpainted.)
