Georgia HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors Application

Eligibility To be considered for a board position, a member must be: A professional member of Georgia HOSA for three years or an Industry Representative, understanding the Georgia HOSA, Inc. philosophy and familiar with the bylaws of Georgia HOSA, Inc. Willing and able to commit time for board meetings, committee meetings, planning sessions, special events, including regional competitions, conferences, etc. A team player works well in a group and respects the integrity of the group/board A good listener, dedicated, participative and thoughtful in considering issues of Georgia HOSA, Inc. Supported by school or industry administration Terms of Office Members of Board of Directors are elected to a 3-year term. Each board member can serve up to two terms of office. Board Meeting Dates and Times Board meetings are held twice a year, one in January and one in July. Special meetings may be called in accordance to the by laws. Business may be conducted by other correspondence methods (Letter, Facsimile, E mail, or Telephone) Board-Related Expense Board members must provide their own transportation through school travel account or by industry funding. Georgia will cover, if needed, lodging and meal expenses. The Application Process 1. Complete the Georgia HOSA, Inc. Board Member application 2. Attach a resume or curriculum vitae. 3. Include references from Principal and CTAE Supervisor or supervisor if you are an industry representative candidate 4. Meet the Board. Prepare a 3-5 minute presentation outlining why you wish to become a Georgia HOSA, Inc. board member and why you think your service would be an asset to the organization. This short presentation will be presented to the Board of Directors at a special meeting of the board at the State Leadership Conference on Friday night. A handout highlighting YOU or a work sample is optional during the presentation. 5. Board members will vote in private 6. Election to the Board of Directors will be announced immediately.
