Slider Window Sash Removal Instructions CAUTION: Sash may be heavy in larger windows To Remove Sashes for Cleaning 1. Unlock the latch(es) at the center of the window 2. Slide inner sash open slightly 3. Grasp inner sash at sides near bottom 4. While lifting sash straight up, pull bottom of sash inward and remove 5. Follow steps 2 to 4 to remove outer sash To Replace the Sashes 1. Outer sash must be replaced first 2. Rollers must be at bottom of sashes when replacing 3. Grasp sash at sides near the bottom 4. Hold sash at slight angle inward at bottom and while placing top of sash up into proper sash track, push bottom of sash outward and into same track 5. When both sashes have been replaced, slide sashes into closed position and re-lock the latch(es)
Welded Sash Glass Replacement Instructions 1. Remove sash to be re-glazed by tilting sash 90 and lifting one side only of sash until sash disengages from window frame. 2. Lay sash on flat surface with inside of sash facing upward. 3. Carefully remove glazing beads by inserting a standard screwdriver between sash rail and glazing bead joint. Gently tap screwdriver with a hammer as shown in figure 1. (Note: Remove side glazing beads first.) Remove all four beads and save for re-installation. 4. Lay sash so that inside surface is facing down. Using a utility knife, carefully cut along the joint where the sash rail glazing leg meets the glass on all sides until old glass panel is free from frame. (see figure 2). 5. After glass is removed, clean remaining glazing tape from glazing leg using a standard screwdriver or utility knife. 6. Install new glass panel by removing glazing tape backer on new glass panel. Avoid touching exposed sealant and keep as clean as possible. 7. Lay sash with inside surface facing upward. Carefully lay new glass panel onto sash glazing leg. Try to center glass between sash rails. After glass is in, carefully apply slight amount of pressure on glass to ensure contact between glazing tape and leg. 8. Re-install glazing beads on all four sides by using a block of wood and a hammer. Place wood block on glass surface and gently tap with hammer as shown in figure 3. 9. Replace sash in window frame.
Fixed Glass Replacement Instructions Preparation For New Glass Panel 1. Remove glazing bead pieces which hold the top glass into place by inserting a standard screwdriver and twisting as shown. After bead is loose pull out fully. Save these pieces for new glass re-installation. (CAUTION: the glass panel may be loose when removing glazing bead). 2. With a utility knife, carefully cut, as shown, along broken glass on four (4) sides until it is free from the main frame and meeting rail. 3. Clean window main frame and meeting rail of glass and sealant to obtain a clean surface for the new glass panel. Save the vinyl setting block for reinstallation. Installation of New Glass Panel 4. Determine proper orientation of the glass panel in the main frame. Replace the vinyl setting blocks on the meeting rail. Remove the backing from the sealant on the glass to expose sealant. Carefully place glass panel not the on the main frame, allow the panel to rest on the setting blocks. 5. With wooden block and mallet, tap glazing beads into slot in main frame and meeting rail on all four (4) sides to hold glass panel in place. Do horizontal pieces first.
