Trip Report Date: April, 20, 2013 Location: Lake Conestee Nature Park, 601 Fork Shoals Rd, Greenville, S.C. Leader: Jeff Click Species List Compiled by: Brad Dalton Total Species: 83 species Resources: http://lakeconesteenaturepark.com/ Trip Logistics: 6:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. 5.0 miles Fifteen members and guests attended, including a few intrepid birders who were willing to start at 6:30 AM. The highlights for the early group were singing Cerulean Warbler and Northern Waterthrush, along with a Blue Grosbeak who was cooperative enough to come back out when the main group arrived later. The main group was rewarded with a great variety of birds, including Cape May and Blackpoll Warblers, American Redstart, Scarlet Tanager, and Veery. After lunch, Brad Dalton and Jeff Click birded some of the new trail in the Breazeale Farm tract of the park, where Red-breasted Nuthatch, a Wood Thrush, and a Barred Owl were added. Cerulean Warbler is species number 187 for the park, and 83 species is a new single-day record.
