THE KICKSTART: HOW IT WORKS + WHERE TO GO FOR WHAT Hello my lovely! Welcome to the Free Range Kickstart. This guide is your intro to how this works, and how to get the most from it. 1. The Clubhouse The course elements and how to use them: Your private Kickstart Facebook group, the place to share where you are up to, get input from fellow participants, and even form collaborations. Click straight over here: www.free-range-humans.com/tribe/accesstheclubhouse/ (Note: if you are not in the group yet you will get an error message when loading that page. To fix that, please send a friend request to Louise Miller https://www.facebook.com/louise.miller.14268 and let us know by replying to the email that sent you here.) NOTE: This new Kickstart Facebook Group is intended to fully focus on the course and your progress with your business. It is not the place to post quotes, or memes, or articles from around the internet (unless it is replying to a specific question of course ;). Observing this and keeping the focus on free range style forward movement keeps the group a way more useful space for you. 1
2. Course materials Each Semester is released at the start of that Semester. You can see dates for each on the course materials page: http://www.free-range-humans.com/tribe/kickstartsemesters The full semester is released at once rather than drip feeding you weeks so you can skip on ahead if needed, or catch up. However this is not a course you can do in a weekend so you are encouraged to get started on it sooner rather than later J. NOTE TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ON THE MINIMBA: Semester 1 is based on parts of the MiniMBA, so if you have recently done this and want to access your answers to use as you go, please email clubhouse@free-range-humans.com for the link to do so (they are still there for you during this programme!). Having said that - you are encouraged to go through things afresh where possible as your thinking is likely to have evolved over this course so do give that a go first! 3. Timetable and live sessions There are regular clinic sessions with me (or Selina for Semester 2) throughout the programme. Each session will be a chance to go over that week s materials, get questions answered live, and get more depth. As not everyone will always be at EXACTLY the same stage, it is fine to ask questions that relate to where you are up to (in fact it s very much encouraged!). However, to a sense of cohesive movement, any content talked through at the start will be about the week/s we are up to. 2
Sessions are on Zoom which as you know is a video conferencing system. Note: we have set rooms up to start with the video OFF on entry for participants (so you can be heard but not seen when you join!), however you are encouraged to turn your video on as we go (face to face is so much better ;). You can also send comments and questions via the Zoom group chat function that goes live during the sessions - they will be fed to me as we go. Timetable page: http://www.free-range-humans.com/tribe/kickstarttimetable Recordings can be found here: http://www.free-range-humans.com/tribe/kickstartrecordings Please note that the Meeting ID (pin code) for each Zoom session is different. You can either get that week s ID from the timetable page or hit the little link provided next to each week s session on the Timetable page to add each session to your calendar (that way the meeting ID will automatically be in there too). 4. Bonus Box The Bonus Box is made up of those extra tidbits you may choose to use to build your business but they are not compulsory for everyone! From websites to e-courses and more, use this on an as-needs basis to enhance your next steps. 3

What to do if you get stuck: The first port of call is to have a go at answering your own question. Yes I know, that sounds odd, but hear me out! I know from experience that someone else diving in and answering everything right away does the opposite of helping you out in the long run. I m more interested in you getting what you need AND having the tools to answer your own questions from here on in. So here s how we have set things up to give you the support you need but also get the practice of thinking like a successful free range human. If you get stuck on any part, here s what to do (in this order): 1. Take a break. Put it down and step away. Take a walk, go away for a few hours, or leave it overnight, and let things tick over. In other words, however tempting it may be, do NOT make your first move to dive in and ask for help in the group. Instead ask how would a free range human solve this problem? and let it sit for a while. A surprising amount of blocks get solved with this space. 2. Check the materials. Wait, did this get answered already? (Or is it coming up?). The Kickstart and Bonus box cover a lot of ground. 3. Ask for help from fellow participants. If the issue is still there and you know it needs sorting before you can move forward, now s the time to post in the community. Take a breath and think about what you really want answered. Now go to the Clubhouse and share where you re at and what you need. You will soon get replies and most qs get sorted by this stage. Note I am NOT officially in this group so this point is purely about getting help from participants but don t worry, if you want me to respond to your question in an upcoming Zoom session please tag Louise Fearick who will make sure it is taken care of! 4. Bring it to the next Zoom session! I can t encourage this enough if you are still unsure (or if you need to ask me or Selina directly rather than the Clubhouse) then speak up on the Zoom or simply whiz over a short question via the chat function once you re on the session and I ll speak to it. Remember, raising something here is likely to be helpful for someone else to, so do go for it. 5

She has her ear to the ground of what is happening when, has personally checked all the links in the course, and probably more. What her role is for you: Louise is participating in the Kickstart herself for her fresh VA business, and her role isn t that client-facing at the moment -- but if you have a simple detail question like when is the recording going up? you can tag her in the Clubhouse at Louise Miller. Free Range Louise (Fearick) Community cheerleader WD profile: Dealmaker About Louise F: Louise F is mostly seen on video, but has been known to post written words too. However, she kindly agreed to come back part time to give special love as our Client Happiness Manager for this programme. Why you might contact Jenny: a link isn t working right? Lost a login? Something else? Email Jenny. How to access Jenny: best way to reach Jenny is on clubhouse@free-range-humans.com NOTE Jenny officially checks email on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you want a faster response it s better to post in the Clubhouse and tag Louise Miller who may well sort it out for you! Other wonderful people working behind the scenes are Monica Srivastava who does a lot of our uploads and audio bits. And Maria Watson (aka the Details Director) who is making sure that some key parts are running smoothly at every step. You will meet both of them as participants in the Kickstart so say hello! 8
Travel advice TWO WAYS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR KICKSTART 1. Apply the Three Things Rule. Ask yourself what are the next three things I need to move forward with this?. Those things are your focus for now. If you don t know what those things are? Finding out is one of your steps! This is free range thinking in action. You still plan for your big picture while making sure it happens by not trying to learn/do every single thing for it today with the consequence of getting pulled away from what matters now! (I apply the Three Things Rule to everything I do). 2. Think like a free range human (there is no test at the end). You know what I was great at at school? Tests. (Yeah, I know, nerd). So when I say there is no written test at the end, that s something that I had to learn was true in free range land! Out here, what you do matters as much as how much you know which is why we provide support on doing as well as learning. You have a whole get-paid action month coming up in Semester 2 but if you want to take action earlier go for it! Wherever you are, focus on your journey, not on ticking the boxes, and you ll get better outcomes. You are in the right place to do that. 9
Whew! That s the quickie overview of the Kickstart bits, but the best way to really get acquainted is to dive right in to your materials! Again I m very happy to have you here on this Kickstart the fact that you are here tells me you are someone who thinks free range, and takes action, and that s going to hold you in good stead. We ve put so much into this and I m looking forward to working with you through it, so step inside. Marianne x 10
