Dear Parents and Carers, Another action packed half term is coming to an end. For Year 11 students we have moved into exam mode. We all wish, Reece, Max, Shaun, George, Ben, Adam, Jaden and Rory the best of luck. The GCSE Art exam took place over three days just after the Easter Holidays and the work produced looked awesome. Mr Ward, Miss Irvine, Mr Booth and Mr McDonnell will all need a well-earned rest at the end of this week! Students Charlie, Taylor, Michael, Richard, James, Kayan, Jaheim and Joe have been on the school camp to North Wales I expect they have had a brilliant time. As always, the newsletter is full of amazing articles Have a great read! School reopens on Monday 6 th June separate letters will be sent regarding pick up times. Wishing you all a Happy Half Term Holiday! Gerry Crook MICHAEL TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF TO MAKE A STIR FRY GOOD WORK MOS!! (Dates to remember on the back page of the newsletter.)

Food Technology We would like to welcome Jodey to the Food Technology Room. Since Jodey arrived he has been working hard creating some lovely recipes. Some of our students have received rewards in Food Technology. The rewards are for students who receive 10 sets of 5 points in lessons, which are the maximum points that the students are able to achieve. Here are some of our students who have received rewards. Well done to them all for great work! One of the student s favourite recipes this term has been JAMACIAN FRIED CHICKEN. This recipe is quick and easy and very delicious.

JAMACAN FRIED CHICKEN MIX TOGETHER ½ TSP GROUND BLACK PEPPER 1 TSP ONION POWDER 1 TSP GARLIC POWDER SEASON THE CHICKEN BY RUBBING IT INTO THE SKIN MIX TOGETHER INTO A SANDWICH BAG 1 TABLESPOON FLOUR 1 TSP PAPRIKA DROP THE CHICKEN INTO THE BAG AND EVENLY COAT WITH THE FLOUR MIXTURE. REMOVE AND DIP INTO THE A SMALL BOWL OF MILK. DROP THE CHICKEN BACK INTO THE FLOUR MIXTURE AGAIN. HEAT OIL IN A PAN AND FRY THE CHICKEN. Science This term we have been looking at Exothermic and Endothermic chemical reactions. We measured the starting temperature then combined the chemicals and then recorded the temperature after 20 seconds, which we then recorded. Year 10 have also made some smelly bath bombs to go home. We had to read the recipe and combine the ingredients and then allow them to dry.

External Leadership Fantastic time of the year lots of Adventure, and lots of water. we have had the Bobcats out for some full days, with the help of Ms Irvine and this has proved to be well worth the effort the boys have learnt so much and I am looking forward to seeing them progress even more as the years go on.

External Leadership We have had the stand-up paddle boards out a lot this term and have been able to do some trips, using the tide to our advantage, this has been very successful, and at the same time rewarding. And all the boys that did the trip paddled over 4 miles each, so well done to them. Mr booth has susses fully completed and passed his level one kayak and canoe coach award which is good news as we can spend more time on the water teaching and improving the boy s personal skills.
