Monthly Release of Industrial Production Statistics (IPS) Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) July/2013 Issue 01 Industrial Production Statistics (IPS) is a regular publication of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). BBS took endeavor to revise Quantum Index of Industrial Production (QIIP) from base year 1988-89 to 2005-06 and published the rebased QIIP upto June, 2013 along with the old based (QIIP). In this publication we release it s QIIP solely of the base year 2005-06 for the month of July, 2013. This publication presents the data on industrial production of selected industries along with the monthly estimates of Quantum Index of Industrial Production (QIIP) of medium and large-scale manufacturing industries for the base years 2005-06. Indicators of this publication are expected to provide good idea about the trend of industrial production in the country over a long time. To assess movement of industrial production in Bangladesh, data are collected from State Owned Manufacturing Enterprises (SOEs) and major manufacturing enterprises in the private sector on a monthly basis. I believe that this publication will provide valuable information and foresight to policy makers, researchers, academicians and concerned stakeholders. Comments and suggestions for further improvement of this publication will be highly appreciated. Golam Mostafa Kamal (Additional Secretary) Director General
