From Fabric, cut: five 5 x WOF strips. Subcut: thirty-six 5 squares four 4-1/2 x WOF strips. Subcut: twelve 4-1/2 squares four 4-1/2 x 8-1/2 rectangles four 4-1/2 x 12-1/2 rectangles five 1-1/2 x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim: two 1-1/2 x 48-1/2 top/bottom border 1 pieces two 1-1/2 x 50-1/2 side border 1 pieces From Fabric B, cut: three 5 x WOF strips. Subcut: twenty-four 5 squares five 1-3/4 x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim: two 1-3/4 x 50-1/2 top/bottom border 2 pieces two 1-3/4 x 53 side border 2 pieces From Fabric C, cut: three 5 x WOF strips. ssemble the Half-Square Triangles (HSTs) Step 1: Pair a 5 Fabric square with a 5 Fabric B square, RST. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of one square. Sew 1/4 away from both sides of the marked line. Cut on the marked line, creating two half-square triangles (HSTs). Press toward the darker fabric. Trim to 4-1/2 square. ssemble the Quilt Step 3: rrange the HSTs and Fabric squares and rectangles, as shown, in twelve rows. Pay close attention to the fabric placement and the HST orientation. Sew each row together, pressing the seams in opposite directions every other row. Sew the rows together in pairs, then sew pairs together. Continue in this way until you are sewing two quilt center halves together. Step 4: Sew the top and bottom border 1 pieces to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the side border 1 pieces to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Step 5: Sew the top and bottom border 2 pieces to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the side border 2 pieces to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Step 6: Sew the top and bottom border 3 pieces to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the side border 3 pieces to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Your quilt top is complete. Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy! page 5
