Trentham Newsletter Monday 27/11/17 ADF sponsoring our Christmas decorations; wonderful to see our local companies really supporting Trentham Academy.
Head Boy George Hughes and Head Girl Hermione Turner attended the Trentham Remembrance ceremony on Sunday 12 th and laid a wreath. The many community members at the ceremony commented really positively about the Academy and how proud they were of our students. On Friday 10 th November students observed the minutes silence in an exemplary way and Aimee Mulroy played The Last Post.
Our amazing students continue to work hard and represent the values we hold very closely. The following students are this week s stars: Stars of the Week Centaur (Optimism) Michael Ludford for being a millionaire reader. Dragon (Optimism) Samson Shute who threw himself into life at the school as soon as he arrived. He has already represented the school 5 times for cross country and rugby. Griffin (Integrity) George Hughes has put together two boxes himself for the Operation Christmas Child but said they were from his form group. Phoenix (Collaboration) Maria Xanthopoulou has impressed her form PYOC with the number of items and effort she made with her Christmas box that was full to the brim with toys and goodies for those in need. A real show of caring for others and form effort. Salamander (Collaboration) Lucy Dennis & Sarah Frearson for doing an amazing job co-ordinating and collating all of the gifts for Operation Christmas Child for Salamander.
Headteacher Commendations Declan Clark for supporting a year 7 student who was in a difficult situation. Ebony Lovatt, an amazing student, who has created the Trentham Academy Christmas card this year.

Can I also take this opportunity to remind Parents and Carers that we have sent a letter regarding the carpark and the front gates. This is a reminder that the gates will be locked between 2.45pm and 3.10pm to ensure the safety of our children. Staff have worked incredibly hard to mark and assess all students work in the academy as part of our data collection process and this will be sent out to you in a report in due course. I have also sent out a letter regarding our coffee morning and evening to set up a parent body called TALENT (Trentham Academy Learning Enterprise Network Team). This is an exciting time to be part of Trentham Academy and we are looking forward to working closer with the Parent/ Carer body. We have welcomed the primary schools Priory and Ash Green to Trentham this week to do Maths and Science and everybody involved has had a fantastic time. We have also welcomed recently the following primary school Headteachers; Belgrave, Newstead, Ash Green and The Meadows. We look forward to working closely with them and sharing our resources. The staff at Trentham Academy are so passionate about the transition work they do. Mr Bunyan is also starting to work with primary schools using Ipads and animations which is another exciting development taking place. The community aspect of our sports centre is also now starting to take shape but we are also looking for any groups out there that would like to use our facilities. If anyone is interested they need to contact Trentham@trenthamacademy.co.uk and we will arrange a visit. I would like to thank the parents for their continued support for our academy. I am proud to have such a talented, committed teaching staff, that works so hard for your children. However we also have a fantastic set of back office staff, learning support staff, inclusion team and site staff that allow our academy to flourish. Best wishes Mr M Whittingham Headteacher
