Ngati Toa te Puna Reo; Statement of Philosophy Understands the value, identity, language and culture of Māori children and their whānau. Is dedicated to the sustenance and growth of Te Reo Maori. Appreciates that New Zealand s early childhood curriculum,te Whārikia document based upon the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and partnership with whānau. Allows tamariki the time and space to think and problem solve, take calculated risks and be involved in Taiao Maori. Believes that all employees require on-going training to continue to develop the professional skills required in a progressive Puna Reo. Will draw on the experience of Iwi members and their knowledge to improve their teaching strategies for Māori children.

Aims to develop respectful, collaborative and reciprocal partnerships with whanau Maori and the surrounding community. Will involve whānau Māori in all aspects of management, programme planning, implementation and evaluation. Puna Reo Operating Information Our Puna Reo is a total immersion Early Childcare Centre that has been established to promote and encourage the growth of Te Reo Maori with mokopuna between the ages of 0-5.
