J.P. World School, Jammu HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK-2018 Class-4 Dear Parents, Exciting time is here again! It s time for Summer Vacation and fun filled activities. Children are power houses of potential which needs to be tapped and channelized in diverse ways. They should be encouraged to develop intellectually and physically. Summer Vacation is the best and fruitful time for learning and for nurturing creativity. The Holiday Homework designed would not only enhance achievements of your child but would also teach your child to work independently and would improve his/ her basic academic skills, such as reading, writing, and spellings. Here are a few suggestions that you may keep in mind- Let the child do his/her homework himself. Parents can act as guides & facilitators. The homework should be done as per the instructions given. It should be neatly labelled and the name, class, section of the child should be mentioned clearly. The last date of submission of holidays homework is 18th July. No homework will be accepted after the last date. The holidays homework will be graded and is a part of CBSE assessment. Note: 1. The school will reopen on 16 th July, 2018. 2. The holidays homework for all the subjects is to be done in one register/ notebook covered with sky blue paper and transparent sheet and use separate file covers for Activity sheets It should be strictly child s work. Enjoy your holidays with your children!

Find the distance of your city from five different cities of India (in km). >Mark these cities on the map. >Find out five interesting facts about these cities and create a beautiful scrapbook with all these informations. 2. Collect some pictures of Northern Mountains and make a poster. You can also write some important information regarding the northern mountains in your poster. SUBJECT- ART AND CRAFT 1. Paper folding and pasting of little birdie ( pg no. 13 ) 2. Make a photo frame and decorate it with your own idea. 1. Learn all the chapters done till date in class. 2. Use separate sheets to do the following tasks: SUBJECT- SCIENCE a) Do reading of lesson-1 to lesson-6. Find out 5 difficult words from every chapter and write along with their meanings. b) Write a short paragraph about Living near water bodies. c) Write 5 things that you must keep in mind to keep the environment clean. d) Collect information about dresses of five different states of your choice along with the pictures and write two lines on each. e) Write few lines about Jammu and Kashmir. Paste pictures of its food, dress, festivals, dance and language. 3. Prepare a Science magazine on the theme Environment Use coloured sheets to make your holiday homework Science magazine. Make a nice cover. Use your imagination and creativity. The content should be of 7-8 pages only. Some of things that you could put in the magazine are: 1. Information about one famous environmentalist, his/her picture, and information about his/her work. 2. Pictures and articles about the environment. 3. Some 4-5 amazing/interesting facts.
