Supplies: ½ yard main fabric ½ yard Insul-Shine 8 x 10 piece of Fusible Fleece 2 ¼ yard or fat quarter of coordinating fabric 1 9 x 12 sheet of Steam-A-Seam 2 1 yard nylon cord 1 cord stop Coordinating thread for main and coordinating fabric https://warmcompany.com/products/insulshine-198 https://warmcompany.com/steam-a-seam-2-9-x-12-sheets https://warmcompany.com/products/warmfleece-217/products/warmfleece-95

Step 1: Cut an 8 x 19 rectangle of main fabric and Insul-Shine. Step 2: Cut a 6 diameter circle from main fabric, Insul-Shine, and Fusible Fleece 2. Trim ½ inch around entire fleece circle so that it will fit inside the seams. Step 3: Cut a 9 x 19.5 rectangle of main fabric (yes, you need 2 almost identical pieces for this pattern) cut a 3 x 10 rectangle of coordinating fabric and a 1 x 10 strip of Fusible Fleece 2. Step 4: There s an option to trace or print your design in REVERSE onto the grid side paper. Before sending Steam-A-Seam 2 sheets through your ink-jet printer, cut them to size (8.5" x 11"). Do not use with a laser printer. Step 5: Cut around each letter - Leaving at least ¼ space around the printed or traced letters. Remove the plain white release paper liner exposing 1 side of the sticky fusible web. Place sticky side to wrong side of fabric finger pressing firmly. Step 6: Carefully cut out the letters on your fabric. Remove the grid printed paper lining by crimping (pinch) a corner towards the paper to get it started if needed. Center the letters on your 8 x 19 rectangle of main fabric (the smaller one). Once your letters and shapes are perfectly placed it s time to make this permanent! Set your iron for the temperature of the fabric you re using and make sure it has water (fabric permitting a dry iron works too). Tip: Using a press cloth lift and place the iron over all areas for at least 30 seconds + using steam.

Step 7: Fold your 8 x 19 main fabric rectangle in half width-wise. Pin edges together and sew a straight stitch with a ½ seam allowance. Repeat with 8 x 19 Insul-Shine rectangle. Set aside until step 13 Step 8: Take your 9 x 19.5 rectangle and finish both of the short sides by folding under ¼ of an inch, turning under another ¼ inch, and stitching down. The raw edge should be tucked away inside the fold. Step 9: Fold the 9 x 19.5 rectangle in half length-wise. Make a straight stitch ½ inch in from the fold all the way across. This will be your casing for the drawstring cord. Set aside until step 14.

Step 10: Fold your 3 x 10 rectangle in half length-wise. Sew closed with a straight stitch and ½ inch seam allowance. Turn right side out using a safety pin. Step 11: Use a safety pin to feed the 1 x 10 Fusible Fleece 2 strip into the tube. Step 12: Sew 3 lines down the strap to creating a quilted strap. Step 13: Pin the strap to top raw edge of the right side of your main fabric tube, covering the seam. Step 14: Pin the raw edge of your casing piece along the top raw edge of the main fabric tube. The short ends should meet on the center of the strap. Step 15: Insert the main fabric tube piece into the Insul-Shine tube piece (right side down) and pin along top edge. You will need to remove the pins of the previous layers when you pin the Insul-Shine into place.

Step 16: Sew around edge using ½ inch seam allowance. Turn the Insul-Shine right side out and push into center. Step 17: Topstitch a ¼ inch down from your seam. Step 18: Prepare the bottom by layering Insul-Shine right-side down, then fleece (centered), and the main fabric right-side up. Press with iron to adhere the Fusible Fleece 2, the longer you iron the stiffer it gets. Be careful not touch the iron to shiny side of Insul-Shine. Step 19: Zig-zag or overcast stitch around the raw edges for the bottom. Repeat with raw edges of main body tube. This will make it easier to catch all pieces when you sew them together. Step 20: Turn main body tube inside out. Pin or baste the bottom of your strap to the bottom edge of the main tube. Be sure to center over the seam and make sure the strap isn t twisted.

Step 21: Pin the bottom edge of the main body tube to the bottom circle with right sides together. You may need to make tiny snips along the bottom edge of the main tube to help it curve around the circle. Just make sure your snips are no longer than ¼ inch. Sew in place with a straight stitch. Step 22: Cut your Nylon cord to 24 inches. Use a lighter to slightly melt the ends to prevent fraying. Step 23: Using a safety pin, feed the nylon cord through the casing on the top of the coozie. Push the ends of the cord through the hole on the cold stop one at a time. Tie the two cords in a knot at the end. Now take a step back and admire that beauty! Cheers - you re all done!
