Introduction If you have decided to start your own online business and are ready to go, first, there is one thing that you have to decide on. You have to pick a niche. Many people skip this step, or take a very wide and to broad (or to small) of a niche to start with, me included did this mistake when I first started out. You don t want to do that as you will get results MUCH faster if you pick the right one from the start. What is a niche? If you don t already know, a niche is simply put a group of people looking for something, or interested in something. The online marketing definition of a niche is: A niche is the categorical topic that holds an audience of people that you want to sell to. This group/category of people are looking for help (buying things/services) This is where you come into the picture and give them what they are looking for in the first place. If you can identify your niche you are going to be very successful, so don t rush this first step of creating your own passive income online, whatever money making method you choose to go with you NEED to pick a niche. This audience could be as big as the whole of the audience that has an interest in fitness, or as small as tea filters niche. There are literally hundreds of thousands of niches out there and the truth is that you can make a full-time living and more within anyone of them You have to keep in mind that when you are making money online you are dealing with the absolute biggest market in the world, everyday there are around 2-3 billion people online, if you can reach only a tiny 0,0000000001 percent of those you are home! Every year that goes also sets a new record in sales being made online. This is not something that will change anytime soon. It will only get bigger and bigger and it is a well know agreement by all of us already making a living online that the future job is ONLINE. Am sure you understand this very well also, if not you wouldn t be reading this guide, right?
So, how do you choose the right niche? More correct, how do you choose an easy one instead of a hard one? With easy I mean one that you are going to be able to start making money with faster and that also will be faster and a lot more easy to upscale once you start to earn money. Easy = Big Niche Hard = Small Niche I have experience with both the small (hard) and the big (easy) ones and I can tell you from my experience that it will go a lot faster to make money within a bigger niche. If you want to go for the absolute easiest and fastest ones then any of the big 4 niches will be your best bet.
What are the big 4? The 4 absolutely biggest niches are: -Fitness Niche -Dating Niche -Make Money Online Niche -Health Niche If you are just starting out I would strongly recommend that you pick one of the bigger 4 (or something more narrow within any of them). This goes against what many in the industry say, I know. However, in my opinion it s not a good idea to start with a smaller niche. You have to keep in mind that internet is a HUGE place. If you go with a smaller niche, many times you will find it hard to think of product/service ideas that your audience are looking for. It will also be a lot harder to do market research on the niche and how others within the same niche are promoting to that niche. That means there are less opportunities in that niche and also less opportunity to learn how to become successful in it. The market is basically capped from the start.
A big niche means more customers and also (of course) more competition. Big niches are big for a reason. They appeal to a larger portion of the online market and there is also several marketers that are focusing on this niche This is not only bad because this means that you have a great opportunity to observe and learn about how they are making money. You can simply put see what they do and then make some adjustments and implement it to your own strategy. It also means that there are far more people to sell to. You may be thinking right now: What about SEO and ranking in Google? Sure, big niches got more competition and that also means it will be harder to rank (but far from impossible). If you do your SEO correct (not hard at all) and stay consistent with your posting you will get traffic (visitors) from Google. Also, keep in mind that Google is far from the only traffic source, there are many other ways to get great quality traffic. As a rule of thumb, don t make your niche decision based on fear from ranking on Google or to much competition Those things will fall in place later on for you, trust the process.
Go ahead and pick your niche right now! (Follow Your Passion or Not??) I know it sounds tempting to go with the follow your passion or work with something you love and you will never have to work a day in your life talk However, you want to make money first of all, right? Am absolutely not saying that you can t by picking your passion because you can, you can make very good money within any niche as I mentioned earlier. However, it will go faster (and easier) to make money with any of the big 4, if you later on want to go with your passion it will be a lot easier to do so as you got both a ton of experience on how to reach people online and you will also have a lot of capital to invest Let s keep it real here So, as long as you aren t already a professional or some kind of expert inside a smaller niche right now, I urge you to go with any of the big 4. (Trust me, I did that mistake myself and it took me to many months before I realized it and had to start all over again) Pick one niche now and if you feel you haven t got the required knowledge to help people with their problems inside any of them don t panic. You can learn very easily as there is a TON of info on them online. I m not saying that you should learn everything that there is to know about for example fitness (if you pick that one), but instead you should start by focusing on one particular problem that people inside this niche have. It could be for example: How to loose weight or how to build muscle or maybe how to work out at home and so on. Just perform a Google search on a particular area (that you are thinking about) and look on the comments what people are asking about. If you find something that a lot of people asking for then BOOM! Go for that problem and become an expert of it.
Bonus advice: If you want to see what is the absolutely most popular and trending blogs within ANY niche online I highly recommend that you use the website named BuzzSumo.com where you can analyze what sort of content that performs best online right now. How can you learn a niche fast? Well, this is actually very easy once you have decided on a niche. First of all you can do some quick Google searches and find a ton of info to take notes and learn from. You can look on Forums (within your niche) Go to BuzzSumo and research Go to the library and borrow a couple of books (many times it is great to go offline) You could even go to your local gym and ask to interview a personal trainer specialized in the niche of your choice. Etc. The bottom line here is that you can learn a niche fast, and you can learn enough to get started in just an hour or 2. You do NOT have to be a professional to be able to make money online within ANY niche. Please do not be afraid of that common misconception. Can I pick more than 1 niche? First of all, let me point out that 1 niche is more than enough to create a full-time income (and a lot more) and there is no need to pick more than one unless you want to. So the answer to the question if you can pick more than 1 niche is: Yes absolutely! HOWEVER, please pick only 1 to start with (at least until you make money with it) before you even think of starting a second one. Trust me, you will achieve results MUCH faster that way.
Conclusion I really hope that you found this guide to be helpful and now you should have more than enough info and knowledge to pick the right niche from the start so you can start to generate big money in the fastest possible way. It all start with making that first dollar though, once that is accomplished guess what? You can do it over and over and over and over again. So now you should have decided on a niche (if not spend the rest of today and maybe tomorrow to pick one). What s next?
