I am an award winning quilt / textile artist. I have a blog/website and I was wondering if there is anyone from your guild that would be interested in following someone from Australia. It is often nice to learn about the different way that people live and do things in other countries. If anyone is interested then they are able to just log on for a look, or if they choose to join up with me for FREE, then they will receive a FREE E-BOOK for HOW TO DO TRAPUNTO, followed up with a weekly e-mail each Wednesday. This is a technique that I master in, and Applique is my other big love. If you feel like you would like to pass my address on or easier still, just forward this e-mail onto to fellow members then that would be greatly appreciated. I will leave you to make that decision. Here is my address www.roselewisquilting.com.au Thanking you and Have an absolutely brilliant day Rose Rose Lewis Quilting www.roselewisquilting.com.au Inclement Weather In the event of inclement weather on the day of our meeting, cancellation will be announced on WGRZ- Channel 2. 3

Sunshine and Shadows Kathy Tomasulo Ann Neilson is a proud great-grandmother to Samuel Utah born on 12/3/13. REMINDER EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, please note that there is a NEW email address for our AQG email communications and you will need to update your records to send to Karen Goddard at this new address: AQGNewsletter@yahoo.com. Community Service Meetings Joyce Morris The committee meets from 10 am to 1 pm the fourth Wednesday of each month. For more information, contact Joyce Morris. Her contact information is in the Member roster on our guild website. All are invited to join in the activities. Bring your sewing machine and supplies. The committee has cutting boards and cutters. Various size rulers are helpful. New ideas are always welcome! Historic Homes Committee Theresa Utz Any and all are invited to join this committee. We will be completing the top of the quilt we are currently working on, and will begin tying it as per the original. Our next project has been selected, and the original is beautiful. It is a two-color Delectable Mountain pattern and much of it can be worked on at home. So come join us and become part of re-creating history. We will meet January 15th at 10am in the Tea Room. PM Quilters 2013 Schedule Joyce Morris PM Quilters is a group of friendly quilters who gather each month in the home of one of the members. Any Guild member is welcome. For those that are planning to attend will need to contact the hostess so that the seating arrangement can be made. All members are invited, but if we get much bigger, we'll have to hire a hall! We have a great time during our meeting of learning and friendships. Then the hostess serves tea and coffee with goodies. What more could you want? Just be sure to call first! Please note that the contact information for each of the members below is in our Member Roster on our guild website. Quilt Show Demonstrators Needed Karen Goddard Karen Goddard is looking for anyone interested in doing a demo at the Quilt Show next April. If you have an interesting pattern, technique, new ruler or notion you would like to demo, please let Karen know. 4

16 PATCH Due at the January 2014 meeting The block this month is easy. It s a 16 patch. Please use one color way. Any color is fine except GREEN. That s going to be the background so please select another color. Cut: sixteen (16) squares 4 ½ x 4 ½ Sew: four (4) blocks into a row. Make four (4) rows. Sew them together so you have a block that s four (4) squares by four (4) squares. That s it, you re done. Since most people do not have a design in mind using this 16 patch block, the winner of the lottery will receive 25 guild bucks. The auction is that night so the winner will be able to use the money immediately. Hope you make more that one block. As always, thank you for participating.
