SPEAKERS Mr. George Xiradakis Founder-Managing Director, XRTC Business Consultants graduated from the Nautical Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos-Athens and he holds a diploma in Commercial Operations from City of London Polytechnic and an MSc in Maritime Studies from University of Wales. In his banking carrier (1991-1998) he served as Vice President of Credit Lyonnais Shipping Group and Head of European Shipping finance activities and as Head of Greek, Indian and Middle East Shipping. In 1999 he founded XRTC Business Consultants and since then he has been the Managing Director of the Company. XRTC acted as Commercial Representative of the French Banks Credit Lyonnais (up to 2004) and Natixis (up to 2008). Since 2009, XRTC has been working closely with the Chinese ship finance market. In 2011 XRTC signed a Financial Consultancy Agreement with China Development Bank. XRTC has won the Greek Shipping Financier of the Year by Lloyd s List Greek Shipping Award 2010. Mr. Xiradakis is a member of the Board of Directors of Paragon Shipping Inc (NASDAQ: PRGN). He also serves as the President of the Board of Governors of the International Propeller Club of the United States International Port of Piraeus; he is also the General Secretary of the Association of Banking and Shipping Executives of Hellenic Shipping and a Board Member of the China-Greece Friendship Association. He is also member of Marine Club of Piraeus, HELMEPA, Member of the Mediterranean Committee of China Classification Society, Greece-China Chamber and member of President s Advisory Council of American College of Greece. Mr. Xiradakis was member of the Board of Directors of DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS) from 2008 up to November 2015, also was a member of the Board of Directors of Aries Maritime Transport, which has since changed its name to NewLead Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ: NEWL). Mr. Xiradakis also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Public Real Estate Corporation and the first President of the National Center of Port Development. Mr. Theodore Chouliaras President of the institute of Maritime & Economic studies, UPMARI- TIME LONDON Ltd. holds an MSc in Finance and Banking from Leicester University (UK). From March of 2011 he is the B.O.D. President of the Institute of Maritime & Economic Studies, (www.instimarec.org) while from 2009 he was appointed as the B.O.D. President of the Shipping Finance Consultants UPMARITIME LONDON Ltd. (www.upmaritimelondon.co.uk) Economist, with Long time Experience in the banking and stock market sector, he structured many shipping & corporate finance deals. Mr. Jakub Walenkiewicz Principal Market Analyst, DNV GL is Principal Market Analyst in DNV GL and a regular speaker at maritime industry events. He has more than 15 years of research experience and writes articles, develops statistics and assesses influencing factors between shipping, international trade and energy markets. His analysis of commercially sensitive data is used to evaluate supply and demand trends and synergies between the maritime and offshore industries. Mr. Walenkiewicz holds a master s degree in Naval Architecture.

Mr. Bengt Schager, HMON Maritime Psychologist and part owner, Marine Profile AB holds a Master s degree in Psychology from University of Lund, Sweden. Before his university studies he was a radio officer in the merchant navy and the Swedish Air Force. Bengt has been working as a consultant for the shipping industry since 1989 and with international shore based industries since 1982. Bengt has served as an appointed expert on human error and witness-psychology on the Swedish, Finnish and Estonian Joint Accident Investigation Commission investigating the MV Estonia accident in 1994. Bengt has written some twenty articles on Human Error and one book: The Human Error in the Maritime Industry How to Understand, Detect and Cope (2008). He is frequently engaged by the Maritime Industry as a consultant in leadership programs, assessment and selection of seagoing personnel, and as a lecturer. Mr. Michael Spanos Managing Director, Global Sustain is the Founder & Managing Director of Global Sustain, an Expert Advisor to the European Commission on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), an AHC Group Senior Associate, a member of the secretariat of the United Nations Global Compact Network and of the Advisory Board of the CEO Clubs in Greece. Michael is a corporate executive with extensive hands-on entrepreneurial experience in sustainability, corporate responsibility, management consulting, investments and business information with exceptional communication and networking skills and a demonstrable track record of delivering sustainability and business development solutions. Michael is an accomplished project manager, accustomed in working in international and multi-cultural environments, with solid analytical and quantitative skills and strong synthesis and strategic thinking ability. His is an expert in representing initiatives in high-profile settings and venues with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build meaningful and long lasting relationships with clients and partners. Since 2006, Michael is the Managing Director of Global Sustain, providing leadership in sustainability strategy issues, corporate responsibility measurement and reporting, supporting sustainability activities, assisting companies in improving sustainability performance and recognition through metrics/indices, awards and initiatives, serving as the critical link for the formation of external partnerships with NGOs/foundations, think tanks, institutions, governments, and other businesses to accomplish sustainability objectives. He is also engaged in organizing sustainability conferences and training events and offering practical guidance to companies on the implementation of responsible investment practices. He presents in international events and produces international publications on responsible investments, sustainable leadership, innovation, globalization and other sustainability issues. Mr. Konstantinos Poulis PhD-General Manager, Epsilon is the General Manager of Epsilon Hellas, a multinational firm that manages the human resource side of the shipping sector. Prior to joining the crew management sector, Konstantinos has been a senior academic in major British, Irish and French Universities and has a wide research, managerial and consulting experience with FTSE 100, Forbes 500 and Shipping Organizations. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester and he has also studied in the Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of Antwerp and UMIST.

Mrs. Joanna Koukouli Claims Manager, The American Club (Piraeus Office) is the Claims Manager in SCB (Hellas) Inc., Piraeus office for the Managers of the American Steamship Mutual Owners Mutual Protection & Indemnity Association. Joanna is a member of the New York State Bar, the Piraeus Bar, and the Law Society of England and Wales thereby making her a triple qualified lawyer. She obtained her first degree in law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and subsequently completed post-graduate studies at the University of Southampton in the UK, earning a LL.M. in Maritime Law, and at Brooklyn Law School prior to her admission to the New York State Bar. Prior to joining SCB (Hellas), Inc., Joanna worked as a solicitor for a major English commercial law firm based in their Southampton office as part of the commercial litigation, shipping division team. She subsequently worked for a specialist maritime NY law firm involved in shipping litigation and after returning to Greece she served for five years as in-house lawyer at Danaos Shipping Co.Ltd., a Piraeus-based manager of a large containership fleet. In that capacity, she handled a wide variety of P&I, FD&D and transactional business including S&P, shipbuilding contracts, corporate, ship finance and was involved in the NYSE-listed parent vessel-owning company s IPO and SEC filings. Joanna has been with SCB (Hellas), Inc., since 2011 and as Claims Manager, she supervises the claims staff with respect to the day to day running of all P&I/FDD incidents while also directly responsible herself for the direction and handling of the more complicated casualties and high level disputes in the region. Joanna also oversees the review for approval of armed guards contracts and seafarer employment contracts. Mr. David Granville Etihad Sales Opportunities Manager, Etihad Airways joined Etihad Airways in November 2007, bringing 30 years of airline expertise to the Abu Dhabi-based Αirline. David joined as General Manager Sudan, after heading up Kenya Airways UK operations and previous senior roles across Africa with British Airways. Now based with Etihad s Global Accounts Sales team in the UK, he is responsible both for global products in the marine, missionary and student markets and multi-national accounts which drive much of their growth. He aims to make Etihad Airways not necessarily the biggest but the best and most relevant to the needs of the marine and offshore markets. A British national, David has always worked in aviation related industries of customer loyalty, rail integration and management consultancy. He remains passionate about leveraging increased value from consumer loyalty. Mr. Michalis Pantazopoulos Senior Vice President, LISCR (Hellas) S.A. has more than 25 years working experience in shipping and offshore industries in Greece and United States. Right after graduation with a PhD in Mechanical/Ocean Engineering, University of Washington, in 1987 he joined EXXON Corporation where for the next ten years served in engineering and managerial positions in offshore and marine engineering fields including 2 years of service as technical support to Exxon s legal team in the EXXON VALDEZ trial. Upon returned to Greece in 1996, he joined ABS Consulting (American Bureau of Shipping) in managerial positions serving the shipping and offshore industry in Greece and in south Europe respectively, followed by three years with AVIN INTERNATIONAL as Manager of the Fleet Services Division. Since 2004, Michalis is part of the Liberian Registry, the largest quality registry in the world, serving in their Piraeus office as Senior Vice-President. A regular speaker and contributor to shipping and technical magazines and journals, Michalis has been affiliated with several shipping and technical committees including INTERTANKO Associate Members Committee, Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers of USA and Greece where he served as President, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Technical Chamber of Greece, HELMEPA, Propeller Club etc.
