William died June 18, 1885 in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York, at 78 years of age. He married twice. He married Laura Amsden in Henniker, Merrimack, New Hampshire, April 25, 1828. Laura was born in Phelps, Ontario, New York about 1804. Laura died May 3, 1865 in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York, at 60 years of age. He married Mrs. Elizabeth Blake September 12, 1865. William H. Childs and Laura Amsden had the following children: 2 i. Julia 2 Childs was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York April 13, 1829. Julia died February 7, 1856 in California, at 26 years of age. She married John Fowler in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York, March 15, 1854. 3 ii. Joel Goodell Childs was born March 14, 1831. 4 iii. William H. Childs Jr. was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York February 8, 1833. He married Emma Blake February 14, 1855. Emma was born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. 5 iv. Laura B. Childs was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York July 22, 1835. She married Dr. F. L. Andrews May 21, 1856. 6 v. Augusta Childs was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York June 1, 1837. She married John Fowler April 23, 1860. 7 vi. Edward Childs was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York August 22, 1839. Edward died September 1, 1860 at 21 years of age. 8 vii. Gertrude Childs was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York November 14, 1841. She married Julius Ives Jr. October 8, 1862. Second Generation 3. Joel Goodell 2 Childs (William H. 1 ) was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York March 14, 1831. Joel died April 6, 1862 at 31 years of age. His body was interred May 1862 in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York.

His body was interred in Hopeland, Buda, Bureau, Illinois. He married Emma Amelia Ferguson in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri, April 23, 1884. Emma was born in Brooklyn, Kings, New York January 31, 1860. Emma was the daughter of Herbert Quirk Ferguson and Eliza Cartlidge. Emma died December 25, 1947 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred in Hopeland, Buda, Bureau, Illinois. Laura Morrison Childs was born in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri July 4, 1887. Laura died March 6, 1962 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, at 74 years of age. She married Kent Coffeen Childs in Riverside, Cook, Illinois, August 3, 1949. Kent was born in Hinsdale, DuPage, Illinois August 11, 1884. 14 iii. Joel Goodell Childs III was born May 2, 1889. 15 iv. Herbert Ford Childs was born November 15, 1894. 10. William M. 3 Childs (Joel Goodell 2, William H. 1 ) was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara, New York December 11, 1856. William died November 28, 1891 at 34 years of age. He married Margaret Mccullough. William M. Childs and Margaret Mccullough had the following children: 16 i. William Mccullough 4 Childs was born October 4, 1886. He married Juanita Grant 1910. Juanita was born in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia. 17 ii. Harry C. Childs was born February 3, 1890. Wadmond in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, August 3, 1935. Joyce was born in Delavan, Walworth, Wisconsin October 17, 1909. 14. Joel Goodell 4 Childs III (Joel Goodell 3, Joel Goodell 2, William H. 1 ) was born in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri May 2, 1889. Joel died June 23, 1954 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, at 65 years of age. His body was interred in Oak Knoll, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. He married Florence Harris in LaGrange, Cook, Illinois, June 11, 1912. Florence was born in Great Barrington, Berkshire, Massachusetts June 5, 1890. Florence was the daughter of Herbert Woods Harris and Mary Conant Foster. Florence died February 8, 1968 in Dallas, Dallas, Texas, at 77 years of age. Lynn was born in Albion, Calhoun, Michigan September 15, 1920. Lynn was the son of Earl Harold Whittaker and Nellie Amanda Dewey. He married Betty Jeanne Greer in Toledo, Ohio, June 1939. He married Estelle Gruwell in Desert Hot Springs, California, January 30, 1992. Lynn died August 20, 1997 in Brunswick, Maine, at 76 years of age.
