IV. Vehicle Preparation o Remove (4) dart clips from underside of OEM bumper/skid plate. o Remove (2) dart clips from back side of plastic skid plate. o Disconnect fog light harness from back of each fog lamp. (if applicable) o Remove (8) nuts from bumper studs using 18mm socket. o Slide bumper forward slightly so that the studs still pass through the frame but the bumper rocks forward. Remove fog harness retainer clips from bumper. o Remove OEM bumper and set aside. o Remove two dart clips from top bumper trim plastic using Phillips screwdriver. Set trim aside as it will not be reused. o The following steps are for 2012 and newer vehicles equipped with a vacuum pump which will need to be relocated. Disconnect the pump electrical and vacuum connections. The vacuum connector has a release that needs to be pulled back to release the line. o Remove the (2) nuts attaching the pump to the bracket and remove pump unit. o The factory pump bracket must be cut from frame. Make a vertical cut the length of the front of the bracket as shown. Then the bracket can be pried away from the frame to provide access to cut the rear portion. (see photo on page 4). Page 3 of 9
V. Winch Tray Installation A. Slide T-shaped nut plates into both inner frame pockets. (nuts to the outside, plate closer to the winch mount). Page 4 of 9
B. Slowly insert winch tray, back end in first. C. Insert supplied 7/16 hardware until finger tight. Use the 1 bolts in this location.. Page 5 of 9
D. Raise the winch tray until the welded nuts are in line with the holes in the jeep frame, and then snug up the side winch tray bolts to hold it in place. Do not over tighten at this point unless you are certain of a flush mount to the frame. E. Recommendation is to run a bolt in from the front on both sides until tight to flush up the winch tray, and then tighten the side winch tray bolts. At that point, you can remove the front bolts from the end of the frame. F. If you have a 2012+ JK, it is time to relocate the vacuum pump. Using the vacuum pump relocation bracket (sold separately) and supplied #10 hardware, tighten the pump to the bracket, and then mount the bracket to the winch mount with the supplied 1/4 hardware.. G. You are now ready to mount your winch (if applicable). Set the winch on the cradle, and using the bolts supplied by the winch manufacturer, bolt the winch into place. At this point, you should bolt the fairlead to the front bumper using the hardware supplied by the winch manufacturer. It is also suggested to run the winch line through the fairlead at this time before mounting the bumper. H. You are now ready to mount the front bumper! 1. If you have not purchased any of the modular add-ons, the bumper will go directly on the jeep with the bolts passing right through the bumper to the winch tray. If you did not purchase a winch tray, nuts are provided for the back inside of the frame. 2. If you have purchased any of the modular accessories line them up on the bumper at this time. Wing options mount UNDER tube options! For simplicity purpose, the bolt lengths are as follows: Longest: Outside Front 4 holes 2 nd Longest: Inside Front 4 holes 3 rd Longest: Top Back, and Bottom bolt holes Shortest: Top Front bolt holes SEE IMAGE ON NEXT PAGE:.
