Using Facebook for Social Networking Most of us have a personal Facebook Timeline that we use to connect with our friends and family. And we d like to keep it that way personal. Facebook would like you to keep your business and personal matters separate on their site as well. That s why they provided the Facebook Business Page. To stay compliant with Facebook terms and conditions, you need to conduct business on a Fan Page not your personal Timeline.
What s the difference between my Timeline and a Business/Fan Page? Your Timeline is for Personal use. It is associated with your email address, has your Friends List, and contains your status updates. You log into Facebook and are directed to your Timeline.
What s the difference between my Profile and a Business/Fan Page? Fan Pages: -Are created from your Timeline Login. -Have Fans, not Friends. -Allow you to conduct business on Facebook without breaking the Terms and Conditions. -Keeps your Personal Timeline personal. -Posts are from the page, not you.

When you select your page from this menu, your profile picture will go away, and the page s picture and name will appear. In this mode, all posts, likes and activity will be attributed to the page, not your personal Timeline.

Only Admins can see this menu, so no one else besides yourself and your designated admins have access to this menu. You can also switch to use FB as your Fan Page from this menu.
