5 MINI-MUSEUM The Mini-museum display brings pages of the book to life Real objects are displayed in conjunction with an interactive tour of the book Take a good look at our MINI-MUSEUM. Some things are tiny, stand close and you ll see em. Each of the OBJECTS in fact is a CLUE: What are the LETTERS that they refer to? 8
6 HANGING ALPHABETICAL SYDNEY The alphabet is reinforced with a display of letters from the publication hanging above the activity spaces 9
7 + 8 POETRY FACTORY + WORD PLAY The play and learn theme continues with these two 'Creative Lab' activities A poetry prompt helps older children write their own prose. 9 WHEN NIGHT FALLS Sydney after dark concept Layered graphics, objects, textures and sounds create a 'bat cave' installation complete with a 'moon' light. A tailored bat making activity enables children to add to the display by hanging their bat in the 'cave'. 11
10 COLLABORATE Alphabetical Sydney collaborative process A film created for the exhibition tells the story of the creative journey made by Hilary Bell and Antonia Presenti to produce the book The 'Creative Lab' activity kit prompts families to collaborate in the exhibition space 12
11+12 MAPPING SYDNEY LISTEN Getting to know Sydney and the concept of place Layered graphics and sounds introduce Parramatta Road. A tailored 'mapping' activity enables families to engage and learn and add to the display. 13
13+14 CREATIVE LAB Creative Lab Kit and collaborate 'activity lab' space in the exhibition A paper based activity pack is provided with entry to the exhibition. Graphic prompts assist families in completing this journey. 14
15 READ & DREAM Reading corner Inspiring super graphics and soft cushions enables families to relax and 'read & dream'. Here + Elsewhere The shelves provide lots of books from here (Australia) and elsewhere (other countries) for families to enjoy 15
16 LUNA PARK Dress up interactive 'just for fun' Super graphics provide an iconic backdrop. A mirror and humorous hats, wigs and glasses provide a dress-up opportunity overall size: 550mm x 1500mm 16
17 ZOO ORIGAMI PLAY TABLE 'Z' is for Zoo origami activity station A supergraphic of the Taronga Park book illustration sits behind a bespoke activity station. Simple instructions are provided to help families to create an origami boat to add to the display 17
