Seattle Indies is non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community of independent game developers in the greater Puget Sound area. Our mission for our yearly one-day expo is to highlight the works of our talented creators to the general public and members of the game industry, and empower our exhibitors to receive pivotal showcase feedback and make meaningful networking connections.
OVER Seattle 1500 ATTENDEES Indies Expo has been successfully showcasing indie games since 2011, tripled in attendance since 2014, and relocated to a spacious new 6000+ sq.ft. venue in 2017 to accommodate our growing crowds. 60% of our attendees are members of the game industry, and 40% are gamers or general attendees.
25 GAMES Seattle Indies Expo received over 60 game applications in 2017 alone. Only 25 games each year are selected to move on as showcase finalists. Over the years, SIX alumni have gone on to show at GDC, Indie Megabooth, PAX 10, IGF, and more. One of our largest breakout success stories: 2017 SIX exhibitor Slay the Spire has sold over 700,000 copies on Steam.
IN 2017 200 VOLUNTEER HOURS Praised by applicants for its transparency and thoroughness, our panel of 43 volunteer jurors from the Seattle Indies community played all 63 submitted games, and wrote 410 total pieces of feedback. As a completely non-profit event, with a core leadership team of just 3 members and 10 day-of volunteers, SIX strives to do a whole lot with just a little love - and we wouldn t exist without our community s support.
