FIELD TRIPS & ARTS WORKSHOPS Please review the field trips and/or workshops offered Thursday & Friday (5/12-5/13). Select FOUR that appeal most to you, prioritizing them from top choice (#1) down. Saturday fieldtrips/workshops (5/14) are longer because they will be the main activity that day. Each field trip includes a museum, scenic or historical site, and nearby beaches to comb. The painting workshop includes all supplies. Please select THREE Activities, prioritizing them from top choice (#1) down.. We will try to honor your top choices but assignments are based on a firstcome, first-served basis. Some activities are limited to a specific number of participants; so to avoid disappointment, register early. And please note, if an activity does not receive its minimum number, it might be cancelled. FIELD TRIPS IMPORTANT: Because some of the Field Trips involve extreme heat, slippery slopes, or rocky terrain, we have ranked them as EASY, MODERATE and DIFFICULT. If you are not in shape, &/or have problems walking (bad knees or hips) or with balance (neuropathy), please select EASY Fieldtrips. We don t want anyone getting hurt or jeopardizing the beachcomb expedition for others. Please don t leave it up to our discretion to determine if you are physically capable of certain hikes. - Some fieldtrips include swimming during or directly after. - A minimum of 5 participants much be signed up for a class to be held. ** Easy ** E-1 Meditation Heaven: Olivine, Fish Ponds & Turtles. Can swim here. (20 maximum). E-2 Little Beach: Coral, Cones & Cowry Combing Can swim afterwards, time permitting (12 maximum) E-3 History Heaven: Pre-contact Hawaii to Post-Contact Settlements Can swim afterwards, time permitting. Supplies provided but feel free to bring your own, too. A-2 COASTAL LIVING PICTURE FRAMES Make the frames you see in the decorator magazines with shell, stone, sea glass and coral edging A-3 WOVEN SHELL BRACELETS & NECKLACES Even broken shells look pretty intertwined with fibers. A-4 CORAL HEART & SHELL COLLAGES Bring a bedside table memory home with these coral heart collages. A-5 GEO-BEACH TRACKING using GOGGLE EARTH Learn techniques to discover good beachcombing sites wherever you are. A-6 EDITING TRICKS with DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY Learn how best to digitally enhance your photographs. Camera and computer required.
