STRUCTURAL CONSTELLATIONS #1Photoshop Demo_b 3. INVERT GRIDS 3 Files are stacked in layers. Highlight (click on) a layer to affect it. Make sure your cursor tool (at the top of the left-hand side tool bar) is selected. For ISO GRID.jpg & ORTHO GRID.jpg layers: IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>INVERT 4. CHANGE BLEND MODES to LIGHTEN In the layer window, on the top left, is a BLENDS pulldown. It is on NORMAL for default. For ISO GRID.jpg & ORTHO GRID.jpg layers: Change to LIGHTEN 5. CHANGE OPACITY of ORTHO to 50% and ISO to 30% In the layer window, on the top right, is a OPACITY slide. It is on 100% for default. To change each layer to it's own opacity level, make sure only one layer is selected at a time.

SAVE ORTHO GRID + SC LAYERS AS JPEG Use the eyeball in the LAYERS window (to the left of each layer) to turn off the iso grid so you cannot see it. Save the other two layers. FILE>SAVE AS> In the FORMAT pulldown change to JPEG YOUR_NAME_SC#_ortho.jpg Put a copy of the files on your ONEDRIVE.
STRUCTURAL CONSTELLATIONS #1Photoshop Demo_d 7. TRANSFORM the Structural Constellation Layer from TRIMETRIC to ISOMETRIC Use eyeball to turn off the ortho grid and turn ON the iso grid. Select the Iso Grid layer and use the LOCK (directly above the layers) to LOCK the iso layer. Select the SC layer. Does your SC have any vertical lines? If yes, go on. If no, then go to EDIT>TRANSFORM>ROTATE and use the transform squares in the corners of the layer to rotate the layer till it has some vertical lines. Zoom out at bit (control or command (-) to zoom out so you can see the transform squares on the edges of the layer. 7. cont. EDIT>TRANSFORM>SKEW Pulling one corner at a time (recommended start: top right up, bottom left down, right bottom down.) You will want to work to a point where the angles on either side of the vertical lines are the same angles (dimetric). You can then use the SCALE tool to pull the angles to the correct angle for the Isometric GRID. EDIT>TRANSFORM>SCALE and pull the the middle top slider up or down to adjust the angles. EDIT>TRANSFORM>SCALE and hold SHIFT while you pull a corner tab to shrink the SC to fit onto the iso grid. Make the SC roughly 5-6" tall. You will size your model to this grid.
STRUCTURAL CONSTELLATIONS #1Photoshop Demo_e 8. CREATE A NEW LAYER to FILL with BLACK In the LAYERS window, on the bottom right is an icon of a piece of paper with a corner folded up. This is the NEW LAYER button. Hit it and make a new layer. 9. MAKE SURE BLACK IS SELECTED Make sure you have the color BLACK selected. On the left, in the TOOL widow, are two colored squares. Double click on the top square and move slider to black if necessary.
STRUCTURAL CONSTELLATIONS #1Photoshop Demo_f 10. USE the PAINTBUCKET TO FILL THE LAYER WITH BLACK Make sure the empty layer in the LAYERS window is selected. Find the PAINT BUCKET tool in the TOOLS window and selected it. Click on the white space IN THE IMAGE to fill it with black. The layer now shows up as black in the LAYERS window. 11. SAVE THE FILE. EDIT>SAVE to save the current.psd file. EDIT>SAVE AS toggle FORMAT pulldown to.jpg YOUR_NAME_SC#_iso.jpg Put a copy of the file onto your ONEDRIVE.
