PROSPEC-2U6M2S MONO INPUT CHANNELS (6) Channel Level Thishighqualityrotarycontroladjuststhechannellevelthatisbeingfeedtothemasteroutputsectionofthe mixer.whileadjustingthefeedtothemastersection,thiscontrolautomaticallyadjuststhegainofthe channelsinputstagetosimplyuse. Channel ON Switch (Illuminated when ON) Whenactivated,routestheinputchannelssignaltothemasteroutputbywayoftheLeft=Right/Center Assignmentswitch.TheSoloPFLswitchandSignalPresent/PeakLEDwillremainactiveregardlessofthe positionofthisswitch. Peak/Signal Present LED Level Monitor Dual=colorLEDmonitorsthechannellevels.Innormaloperation,varyingintensityofthegreenLEDrepresents acceptablesignallevels.shouldlevelsapproachclipping,theledwillilluminatered.thisshouldbean indicationtotheoperatorthatthechannelinputlevelcontrolshouldbedecreaseduntiltheredpeak indicatorsarenolongeractivated.(overalloutputlevelscanbeadjustedbyraisingthemasteroutputlevel positiontooffsetanydecreaseinlevelcausedbyloweringtheinputchannelfaders). Left-Right / Center Assignment Switch (Illuminated when assigned to Center) AssignsinputsigntoeithertheL=RMixbus(Default)throughthePanControlorwhenswitchisdepressed,to thecentermixbus.thisassignmentmethodpreventsthesignalfrombeingaccidentlyfedtoallmixbuses. Pan Control ThiscontrolblendsthepostfadersignalbetweentheassignedL=Rbuspairs.Whenatthecenter,position, bothleftandrightmixbusesarefedequalamountsofsignal(eachdownby3db).thispancontrolhasno effectonthecentermixbus. 7

Solo Switch (Internally Illuminated when activated) Whenpressed,thislatchingswitchwillroutethechannelsignaltotheSolosystem(locatedintheMaster section).thisswitchilluminateswhenactivated. High-Frequency Level Control (Shelving) Adjustthehighfrequencyboost/cutbetween+/=8dB;thereisadetentatthecenter 0 position.boostorcut ofthehighfrequencylevelcontrolisusuallyusedforminortonaladjustmentsandshouldbeusedsparselyfor bestsonicresults. Low-Frequency Level Control (Shelving) Adjustthelowfrequencyboost/cutbetween+/=8dB;thereisadetentatthecenter 0 position.boostorcut ofthelowfrequencylevelcontrolisusuallyusedforminortonaladjustmentsandshouldbeusedsparselyfor bestsonicresults.thefrequencyrangeaffectedbythislowfrequencycontrolisdirectlyaffectbytheposition ofthevariablehigh=passfilter,keepingthefrequenciesaffectedbythiscontrolalwaysabovethefrequencies thathavebeenattenuatedbythevariablehigh=passfiltercontrol.cautionshouldbeexercisedastothe amountofboostusedwhenthehigh=passfiltercontrolissetabovethe1o'clockpositionastoifanyboost willimproveordeterioratethesonicqualityofthatchannel.mostprofessionengineersknowthatthebest soundingeqisnoeq. High-Pass Filter Control Adjuststhehigh=passfiltercornerfrequencybetween20Hzand200Hzatarolloffrateof12dBperoctave. Whenturnedfullycounterclockwise,thiscontrolisintheOFFpositionandhasnoeffectonthechannels signal.thiscontrolisusedtoremoveunwantedsignalcontentbelowthesetfrequency,suchasstagerumble. Theresultisusuallyimprovedsignalqualityoftheassociatedinputsignalwhiledecreasingtheamountoflow frequencyamplificationdemandoftheaudiosystemsamplifierandspeakercombination.thistypeoffilteris alsocalledalow=cutfilter.bestresultisobtainedwhensetfromjustabovefullyclockwisetothe12o'clock (controlpointerstraightup)position.cautionshouldbeusedwhenturnthiscontrolgreaterthanthe1o'clock positionastomuchlowfrequencycontentmayberemovedresultinginanunnaturalsound.movementof thiscontrolwillalsoaffectthe"knee"ofthelowfrequencycontrolsoitremainsusableregardlessofthe amountoflowfrequencycontentthatisremoved. 8

XLR portion Combo Microphone Input Connector ThisconnectorsXLRportionisdesignedtoaccepttypicalmicrophoneinputsignals,andhasaninput impedanceof>3000ohms.thisisalockingconnector.toremoveanxlrcable,depressthetabonthe connectorbeforeattemptingtoremovethecableplugfromtheconsoleconnector.note:pluggingalinelevel signalintothesexlrconnectswillunusuallycausedistortionunlessthissignalisexternallydecreasedinlevel (orexternallypaddeddown).linelevelsignalsshouldbebroughtintothe1/4"trsportionofthiscombo connector. 1/4 TRS portion Combo Line Input Connector The1/4"TRSconnectorportionofthisconnectoracceptslineinputsignalsandhasaninputimpedanceof >10kohms.Thelineinputsourcemaybeabalancedorunbalancedsignal.Note:This1/4"TRSconnectoris notdesignedtoaccepthighimpedanceinstruments. 1/4 TRS Insert Connector Thisconnectorallowsexternalprocessingoreffectselectronicstobeinsertedintothechannel ssignalpath afterthefixedhighpassfilter.tip=send,ring=return,sleeve=ground.examplesofexternaldevicesinclude additionalequalization,notchfilters,compressors,limiters,vocaldoublersandharmonizers,reverbdevices, etc.theinsertsendhasanoutputimpedanceof100ohmsunbalancedandtheinsertreturnhasaninput impedanceof5kohmsunbalanced.operatinglevelis+4dbu. 9

Source Input Switches - Channel "B" (and front input connector) OnStereoInput"B",thefirstofthesetwoswitchesselectsthechannelsanalogsignalsourcebetweenapairof 1/4"Balanced/UnbalancedLinelevelinputs(witharearpanelpadswitchtoexpandinputlevelrange)anda pairofrcalinelevelinputs.thesecondswitchselectsbetweentherearpanelsignalsource(firstswitch)and a1/8"stereolineinputconnectoronthefrontpanel(justtothelowerrightofstereoinputchannel"b"onthe frontpanel. 10

Sum Mono Switches - Separate switch for Channel "A" and Channel "B" TheseswitchescombinethecontentoftheLeftandRightlineinputsintosummedmonoinputsignal.There aresometimessituationswhereasoundsystemisoperatedinanon=standardformatwhereastereosource signalmaybotbedesired.inclusionofasumswitchexpandstheversatilityoftheseinputchannels,including wheretheinputisamonosignalsource.
