If you have communicated your college graduate personal brand in an interview or two and already received a job offer that you want, congratulations! If you have already had a couple of interviews and find yourself still looking for a job you will truly love, now is the perfect time to check in to see how your college graduate personal brand is doing. Remember: Persistence pays off, so persevere, stick with it, and you will see for yourself how the Personal Branding System in How YOU are like Shampoo for College Graduates can help you find a job you ll be really excited about every day. You can take this post-reading e-audit as often as you like during your job search process to see how your college graduate personal brand is taking hold. Of course, it s important to be honest. This means being truthful about where you need improvement, as well as giving yourself credit for your successes. Be patient, and don t worry if your score begins low. Keep evaluating your progress, and watch your score get higher and higher as your desired college graduate personal brand becomes who YOU really are before, during, and after your interviews, as well as once you re in a great job.

Section 1. How do YOU score now? Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 6, circling the number you believe you have achieved thus far. One is the lowest score, and six is the highest score. How well 1. have you communicated your college graduate personal brand in your interviews based on the reactions of your interviewers so far (whether or not you have been right for the job)? Not 2. are you prepared for your interviews with answers to questions, as well as with questions to ask the interviewer? 3. have you taken on your Desired Label? 4. have you communicated your Unique Strengths in your interviews through stories from past experiences? 5. are you making sure to express your Brand Character before, during, and after your interviews, in all that you do? 6. do your Actions reflect the values you ve discovered in your target the companies where you want to work your Audience?

How well Not 7. does your body language reflect your college graduate personal brand? 8. does your Look present your college graduate personal brand, including your hands, shoes, skin, and interview clothing? 9. do you keep your emotions in check when an interviewer asks a difficult or challenging question? 10. does your Sound reflect your college graduate personal brand in terms of your pace, pitch, volume, and enunciation? 11. do you avoid saying um when you speak? 12. do you control the negative Thoughts of your monkey mind? 13. have you taken notes immediately after your interviews? 14. have you followed up after your interviews? 15. have you avoided the Top 20 College Graduate Personal Brand Busters?

Section 2. Filling in the blanks for your College Graduate Personal Brand 1. Rethink your Unique Strengths. Are there more powerful Strengths that you haven t yet expressed that you could communicate in your job search? 2. Do you feel comfortable with the Brand Character traits you have chosen for your college graduate personal brand? In other words, do YOU feel like you? If not, think about your Brand Character, and determine what adjectives would fit you better. Write them down here. 3. When you truly assess the character of the companies where you want to work, does your Brand Character match up with them? If not, what other companies could you target that might be a better fit for you? 4. Reevaluate your cover letter and resume. Is there more you can do to sell YOU with these important documents? If you re not sure, ask someone you trust to look at them and give you feedback.

5. If you haven t yet done a practice interview with a friend, colleague, or professional, schedule one now, and write down the comments you receive as to how you can improve. 6. Think of two strategies to network with others either in person or online through websites liked LinkedIn.com in order to try to connect with someone who works at the companies where you want most to work. 7. You may have worked on your Look and Sound, but how do you know if these are truly communicating your college graduate personal brand? Ask people you trust to tell you the truth about your Look and Sound. Be sure to also get opinions about the clothing you re wearing to interviews. What do others say your Look and Sound present to the world? Are their answers consistent with your college graduate personal brand? If not, what will you do to work further on your Look and/or Sound to make them match your desired job-seeker personal brand? 8. Reevaluate the YOU Collage you created while reading How YOU are like Shampoo for College Graduates. In retrospect, does it represent your college graduate personal brand well, or do you need to make adjustments? Do you need to then adjust your Look to better match your YOU Collage, your desired college graduate personal brand?

9. Continually working on your Thoughts is one of the most important things you can do to communicate your college graduate personal brand. What can you do to make your Thoughts about job-seeking even more positive and productive? 10. Which College Graduate Personal Brand Busters either the ones in the book or ones that you have discovered do you need to work on the most? What can you do to avoid committing these Busters in the future? Remember that your college graduate personal brand changes. You may need to make adjustments to your College Graduate Personal Brand Positioning Statement and College Graduate Personal Brand Marketing Plan if the kind of job offer you want doesn t come as quickly as you hope. Think in terms of the results you want, and adjust your Positioning Statement and Marketing Plan, as necessary. Most importantly, keep at it. Your efforts will not go unrewarded, and before you know it, you ll have a job you will love.
