Robotics is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering and science that deals with the design, construction, operation, and use of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, information gathering and processing. Application in various aspects of everyday life.
An electro-mechanical device that can be programmed to automatically perform complicated often repetitive tasks. A mechanism guided by automatic controls. The robot can resemble humans and try to mimic human action and movement ranging from speaking, jumping to serving people and playing music.

To integrate various operations to: Enhance human labour Improve Productivity Increase product quality and uniformity Minimize cycle times and effort Reduce labor cost
Workforce Virtualization standardize high volume, low-value added task using computer application operate at high speed provides a uniformly high level of quality
Work environment hazardous for human beings Search and rescue Exploration Repetitive, boring and unpleasant tasks Multishift operations or operating for long hours without rest Infrequent changeovers Performing at a steady pace Responding to automated operations Minimizing variation
Experts baffled as robots sent to clean up Fukushima nuclear site keep dying The latest probe was destroyed in less than a day

To integrate various operations to: Provide oversight Provide knowledge-based management
Develop new Robots to perform more sophisticated and unhumanly task Enhance ability to design, develop and manufacture Create knowledge Increase dependent
Increase complexity and sophistication Increase intelligence Improve performance Increase operational time Self diagnose and fix failure
Increase product quality and uniformity Minimize cycle times and effort Reduce labor cost Computers allows us to integrate virtually all phases of manufacturing operations: Material-handling applications robotic arm at ADM (Flour Mills). Processing Operations: spot welding, arc welding, riveting, spray painting, machining Assembly Applications Inspection Operations
Agricultural Field Robots have been around since early 2000s. Tilling of soil Planting Watering Chemical spraying Harvesting Post-harvest processing Crop Scouting
Farmers need to make decision about the crop and soil status before and during the growing season. Robotic using IoT can collect and analyse data then transmit it to the farmer. take a soil sample to determine moisture levels use a cone penetrometer probe to measure soil compaction use an electric probe to measure ph. measure nitrogen and water stress in plants using optical sensors measure insect and weed infestations using cameras
Benefits: Increase productivity Improve crop yield Pest control Reduce costs Post-harvest processing Reduce spoilage

Finance and Accounting: fixed-asset accounting record journal entries conduct general ledger account reconciliation perform intercompany transactions maintain accounting master data
Finance and Accounting: audit expense reports manage incoming vendor invoices process vendor payments handling vendor inquiries and/or disputes.
Regulation and Compliance and Financial Risk Management: help firms review employees disclosures regarding personal accounts examine account openings and paper statements review employees trades and transfer disclosures reconcile employee reports on gifts and entertainment to the expense system spot possible anomalies and potential issues issues.
Benefits: increased accuracy and control by standardizing tedious, manual tasks allow employees time to do more high value and interesting work improve effectiveness of staff reduce costs
Workforce virtualization through robotics has the potential to revolutionise the way we do business and serve clients. 27
