Innovation and leadership are important strands in the constantly evolving way in which energy sources are identified, developed and produced. Advancements in technology have also improved environmental protection and conservation of natural resources. When it comes to the business of energy, technology and sector engagement plays a fundamental role. The 2nd annual Global Petroleum Show Awards (GPS Awards) will serve to recognize and celebrate the leaders who drive impactful change and evolution in the energy industry through technology, corporate social responsibility and excellence. The Global Petroleum Show Awards are a celebration of the companies revolutionizing the energy industry. Held in Canada s energy capital Calgary, Alberta during Global Petroleum Show, June 7-9, 2016, these awards will offer countries, companies and employees throughout the world the opportunity to showcase their achievements in technological advancements and industry leadership. ABORIGINAL ENGAGEMENT AWARD The Aboriginal Engagement Award will celebrate and recognize an organization and local or national Aboriginal community that has demonstrated best efforts and success in engaging in consultation, business development opportunities or community development. The Award will be presented to both the organization and the Aboriginal community. Nominations can be submitted from either party. AWARD FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT The Award for Community Engagement will recognize the industry s efforts in contributing to the betterment of the wider community which is directly linked to the oil & gas industry, and in which the organization operates. Applicants will need to demonstrate the value their project has added to the community and show exceptional corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies. Final nominees may be interviewed by members of the Judging Panel. Organizations working directly with, or in the oil & gas sector, which have made a positive contribution to the advancement of environmental solutions in the oil & gas industry, are eligible to enter. HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARD The Health and Safety Award will acknowledge new technologies in health, safety and environment (HSE) which contribute to enhancing the overall HSE record of the energy industry. The successful project will demonstrate some of the most prominent and underlying root causes that can lead to incidents and outline how the new technology has positively transformed the viability of the project and helped foster an open safety culture. Summary of project, identifying main incident causes and overcoming Original concept and application of the initiative Innovation benefits for society and the oil & gas industry Accomplished impact, including the contribution of the project to the root cause of the incident Organizational commitment towards research, development, and its commercial potential INNOVATION IN TECHNOLOGIES AWARD The Innovation in Technologies Award relates to a project, product, service or new R&D business model. With an emphasis on high impact disruptive innovation rather than incremental iterations of current technologies, nominations are open for those that have invented, developed and are deploying a brand new concept, process, device or business approach that will have major impact in terms of one or more of energy efficiency, emissions, economics, schedule or quality and practical considerations. LEADERSHIP AWARD The Leadership Award will recognize an individual who has contributed to a global impact in advancing the industry through expansion, efficiencies or enhanced perceptions of the Canadian oil & gas industry. Submit nominations on behalf of the recipient of the award. Identification of the need and value of the project to the community Measure of contribution with specific and measurable targets and track record Showcase of community s long-term betterment and noticeable improvement that the initiative brought Integration of the initiative into a community, measuring its positive business impact, contribution and strategic link to company s core business Creativity and originality involved in CSR NEWSMAKER OF THE YEAR AWARD The Newsmaker of the Year Award recognizes an industry reporter, recorder, or journalist in the oil & gas industry who has contributed to ensuring the most up-to-date and accurate information is delivered to the public eye. The individual can represent industry publications, as well as news and media outlets. Describe individual s scope of work and area he/she are involved with, years of experience Rate individual s ability to accurately report on the environment, people and situations that arise in the industry Describe candidate s understanding of the global energy industry Identification of individual s achievements within the oil & gas industry
PROCEDURE Coherent awards procedure contains three transparent stages of all entries evaluation, as set out below, and is led by the Judging Panel. Stage Two March 1, 2016 - April 15, 2016 Stage One June 9, 2015 - February 29, 2016 Nomination forms are open for entry. The deadline to Submit is February 29, 2016. Preliminary stage of the evaluation process, in which the Judging Panel will produce a shortlist of nominee s for each award. Each member of the Judging Panel will independently assess the entries and score the criteria on a scale of 1-5 (1 = excellent, 5 = poor). The scores of the Judging Panel will be submitted to the Official Independent Advisor to do a tally of the scores to produce the shortlist of final nominees. The shortlist will be announced on April 19, 2016. Stage Three April 15, 2016 - June 5, 2016 Each member of the Judging Panel will be invited to discuss the shortlist of nominees at the official meeting in Calgary, AB. The Judges will meet to choose a winner in each category, which will later be announced at the GPS Awards Ceremony during Global Petroleum Show, June 7-9, 2016. All projects nominated for the 2016 GPS Awards must have been completed between January 1, 2012 and February 29, 2016.

OFFICIAL INDEPENDENT ADVISOR The Official Independent Advisor will provide an impartial third party tally of the Judging Panel s scores. In the Preliminary Review Stage the Advisor will take the scores (on a scale of 1 5, 1 being excellent, 5 being poor) from each Judge and tally a final score for each submission.
