Reorganization: Jill Withey noted the nominating committee wished to nominate Lyle Hoovler for Chairman, Kevin Cole for Vice Chairman, Jill Dunlap for Secretary and Lori Swavey for Treasurer. Christopher Soff moved to close the nominations and accept the nominations as presented. Tom Cholak seconded the motion and the motion was unanimously approved.
B. Subcommittees: Jill Withey noted the nominating committee wished to nominate Dick Deiss, Brenda Schmidt, Charlie Bauer and Sean Donahue to serve on the Tire/Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Subcommittee; Rose Mumau, Renee Hayes, Debra Merritt and Yvonne Shaffer to serve on the Audit Subcommittee; Jill Withey, Jill Dunlap and Guy O Neil to serve on the Nominating Subcommittee; Lyle Hoovler and Kevin Cole to serve on the Membership Subcommittee and Jay Verno, John Amato and Dave Dickson to serve on the Gas and Energy Subcommittee. Lori Swavey moved to close the nominations and accept the nominations as presented. Fritz Snyder seconded the motion and the motion was unanimously approved. C. Approval of Minutes: Lori Swavey made a motion to approve the October 19 th, 2017 minutes as presented. Christopher Soff seconded the motion and the motion was unanimously approved. D. Treasurer s Report: Lori Swavey presented the Treasurer s Report. Dick Deiss made a motion to accept the Treasurer s Report as presented and ratify to renew the CD at Mercer County State Bank. Fritz Snyder seconded the motion and the motion was unanimously approved. Fritz Snyder made a motion to ratify the payment of the Meadville Tribune bill for advertisement of 2018 meeting dates in the amount of $80.90. Tom Cholak seconded the motion and the motion was unanimously approved. Crawford County Recycling Program Update: Lisbet Searle-White of the Crawford County Solid Waste Authority provided information on the status of recycling in Crawford County. She noted a Solid Waste Study was completed with the help of Michelle Nestor. The removal of the blue bins from all sites was the result of lost funding at the county level, higher costs of $200.00 per load from the hauler and contamination by numerous individuals. Also discussed were various dumping and burning issues faced by many municipalities. She provided a handout with options for trash and recycling collection and information learned from the study. Christopher Soff noted there have been numerous discussions at the county level involving improving services and a proposed Senate Bill 800 that may result in the establishment of convenience centers. Anyone interested in additional information can contact Lisbet Searle-White or Brenda Schmidt directly. Other Business: Lyle Hoovler noted the annual Joint Purchasing and Road Work Projects meeting will be held on February 1, 2018 at the West Mead Township building and the Audit Committee will meet on February 15, 2018 at the Vernon Township building. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 19 th, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chamber Office on Diamond Park.
