Wash both sides and the top above the lid with Olive Green. Wash the front and the lid with Orchid. Use the 3/4 inch wash glaze brush to wash three stripes of Orchid on the sides and top; wash Olive Green stripes on the front and the lid. Use the #2 round brush to wash a thin stripe of Light Buttermilk on the left of each stripe. Load the Industrial Stamp with Pansy Lavender and stamp it randomly on the sides and top. Load the stamp with Hauser Medium Green and stamp it randomly on the front and the lid. Use the dot stencil and stencil Hauser Medium Green dots on the sides and top. Stencil dots of Pansy Lavender on the front and lid. Use Soft Black to float shade on the corners and edges of the piece. Divide the surface in half by placing a pencil line about 5 and ½ inches up from the bottom. Shade float with Soft Black under this pencil line. Load the large Elegant Border stamp with Soft Black and stamp it around the top of the box. Use the middle sized stamp with Soft Black and stamp it around the middle of the box over the Soft Black float. Use the smallest stamp and stamp it around the bottom of the box, the top above the lid and two sides of the lid. PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS: Stack of cups: The bottom cup is based with Lilac; shade float with Orchid; dry-brush highlight with Snow White. The stripes are Olive Green and Coral Blush. The middle cup is based Pansy Lavender; shade float with Royal Purple; dry-brush highlight with Orchid. The stripes are Orchid and Olive Green. The top cup is based Coral Blush; shade float Royal Fuchsia; dry-brush highlight of Baby Pink. The stripes are Olive green. Shade float around the cups with Soft Black. Teapot: Base the teapot with Olive Green; shade float with Hauser Medium Green; dry-brush highlight with Yellow Light. The stripes are Coral Blush, Pansy Lavender, and Orchid. Shade float around the teapot with Soft Black. Cup on the front: Paint the cup the same as the bottom cup on the side. The tea is Sable Brown and shaded with Burnt Umber. Base the teabag with Burnt Umber and then wash over it with Bleached Sand. The string and tea tag are Bleached Sand shaded with Sable Brown. Bird: Base the bird with Olive Green and shade float with Hauser Medium Green. Highlight the bird with Yellow Light. Undercoat the beak with Snow White 2 artistsclub.com
and then base it with Yellow Light. The eyes are Snow White and Soft Black. The feathers are Hauser Medium Green and Soft Black. The legs are Soft Black. Shade float around the design with Soft Black. Lettering: Use the lettering stencil and Soft Black for the letters. The dots and lines are Olive Green and Coral Blush. Shade lightly to the left of the letters with Soft Black. FINISHING: The knob, edges of the lid and any other edges are Orchid. Add a small highlight stripe of Snow White to the middle of each stripe. Add any details with a permanent ink black pen.
