Kurt Paul MacCarley
Mr. MacCarley has been a filmmaker for the past seventeen years. He has written, directed and produced feature films, commercials, music videos and industrial films. He has received recognitions and awards from the New York International Film Festival, the Houston International Film Festival, the Best in the West Competition, the Buccaneer Competition, the LULU Awards and the prestigious CLIO Awards. He is a member of the Writers Guild, The Director's Guild and The Arts Directors Club of Los Angeles
Mr. MacCarley received his training at the American Film Institute, California State University - Northridge, and the Directors Guild Assistant Director's Training Program. He began his professional work as an Associate Director for DGA T.V. assignments and as a 2nd Assistant director working for Paramount and Universal Studios for series and MOW s. As a writer/director/producer, Mr. MacCarley has completed four feature films: "Dark Dreams" for Nippon Herald; "Rock" for M.C.E.G Sterling released by USA Network; and "Intent" in release by Columbia TriStar and HBO which premiered at the MIFED Film Market in Milan, Italy and The Real Thing that he produced for TriMark released by HBO starring James Russo, Esai Morales, Gary Busey and Emily Llyod. In addition, Mr. MacCarley was approved by Columbia TriStar to direct "My Last Mistake," based on a screenplay he co-wrote.
He has authored feature and television scripts for Orion Television, U.S. Film Corporation and Jempsa Entertainment. As a bonded Producer/Director Mr. Mac Carley was engaged to produce, write and re-edit the production "Going Overboard" starring Saturday Night Live's Adam Sandler, also released by Tri-Mark Pictures. In 1995, Mr. Mac Carley founded Windy City Communications a complete production and distribution company. Windy City s first production was the The Real Thing which he produced and edited. Windy City Communications actively represents feature and television product and over thirty other feature film and documentary titles. Windy City is currently developing European Co-Productions, T.V. Series and Features films with strategic European partners; X-7, a motorcycle T.V. series which he co-wrote.
Prior to founding Sueños he founded Brighton Communications, a commercial production company and directed over 100 T.V. commercials and music videos for such clients as: Mc Donald s, Volkswagen, Army National Guard, Army Air Guard, Hyatt Hotels, A&M Records, Carl's Jr., Teledyne and Warner Brothers Records. He has directed music videos, commercials and industrials starring such talent as Terri Garr, Gene Barry, Emmy Lou Harris, Rod Stewart, Tommy Lasorda, Garry Owens, Dennis Weaver, Valerie Harper, Susan Dey, Mick Fleetwood, Quincy Jones and others. He directed The Joe Mantegna Tribute for the Italian Film Awards featuring Billy Crystal, John Savage, Amber Tamblyn, Mary Steenburgen, Kenneth Branagh, Don Cheadle, David Mamet, Chazz Palminteri and Dennis Leary.
