STS & 社會學 定稿 (6/Feb. 2015) 陽明大學 STS 所傅大為 ex: 7902 dwfu@ym.edu.tw 星期四 10am-1pm 課程介紹 一些學界人士或研究生會有個看法, 多少有點望文生義, 說科技與社會研究 (STS), 是個社會學領域中的新興學門, 是個社會學中的次學門 但真的是如此嗎? 雖然有不少社會學家積極參與 STS, 但 STS 裡的研究者也包括了醫學史家 科學史家 科學哲學家 技術史學者 科技政策學者 科技人類學家等等, 所以究竟是怎麼回事?STS 的本文有兩種意思,science, technology, and society (ST&S); or science and technology studies(s&ts), 所以如果是後者 ( 今天反而成為英美的主流寫法 ), 那麼社會二字就隱沒在 studies 中間, 更不用說社會學了 所以, 究竟 STS 與社會學的關係, 在歐美的起源 今天的發展, 還有在東亞以及特別是在台灣, 其關係是什麼? 這就是這門課的主要問題意識 這門課在形式上面分成四個部分 其中前兩部分, 在於探討 STS 的起源還有當今的學界位置裡,STS 與一些大社會學家的思想關係為何? 我在這裡選擇了涂爾幹與 Bourdieu, 當然一些 STS 人也會零星談到其他社會學家, 如 Wynne 與 Bijker 都曾談到 Giddens, 本門課也提供一些參考 第三部分, 則進一步聚焦, 我選擇一個研究主題 :( 與科技相關的 ) 意外或災難, 來看社會學家與 STS 學者分別對此議題如何研究與處理, 本門課我選擇了 Perrow 還有 Wynne, 乃至介於社會學與 STS 中間的 Vaughan, 看他們對於核災 挑戰者號太空梭意外等重要主題, 如何研究與處理 第四部分, 我就回到台灣的一些社會學家, 看他們的研究位置 還有如何看社會學與 STS 的關係, 目前我選擇了討論環境運動的何明修 討論醫療社會學的林文源 還有做技術研究的楊弘任三位社會學家 在明白的形式上, 這四個部分的主題如下 : 一, 涂爾幹給 SSK 的靈感與資源, 二, Bourdieu 的 science of science 與憤怒 三, 在意外與災難中社會學家與 STS 人的遭遇 常態意外 常態異常 常態化偏差 :Perrow, Wynne, and Vaughan, 四, 臺灣社會學家的幾種作法 :STS 與社會學之間 課程大綱
