DRUSHTIKON 2018 - EXHIBITION INSTRUCTIONS 01. Participation in the photo exhibition is open to all the members of Photographers at Pune. 02. A maximum of 5 photo entries are allowed per participant. 03. Photo resolution must be at least 3000 pixels on the longer side (consider it accordingly for portrait or landscape [for panoramas, 2000 pixels on shorter side]). All photos must be submitted in the highest quality JPEG format. We strongly recommend photos in 3:2 aspect ratio. (Learn more about aspect ratio) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/aspect_ratio 04. Please do not include embedded captions, copyright information, watermarks, frames, borders etc. as a part of the photograph; such entries will not be considered. 05. Make your photos exhibition ready: adjust levels, curves, color balance, and other essential settings to produce the best looking images. Rotate photos if needed and crop all unnecessary parts keeping in mind not to affect the composition. (Up-sizing of the image needs to be done carefully; some artifacts may get added due to interpolation.) 06. The participant guarantees, that he/she owns the copyrights for every one of the submitted photographs. 07. Morphed photographs (alteration in original composition by adding subjects/entities) and digital manipulation will not be allowed. Even though HDR and selective coloring do not fall under the morphed category, please ensure that while applying such techniques the essence of the photograph is not lost. The treatment should not look jarring or artificial. 08. Ensure that the resolution of photographs you submit allow a print size of 12in x 18in, with a minimum of 240 dpi. 09. Please note that we might have to process your photo to make it suitable for printing. However, due care will be taken to faithfully preserve the substance of the photograph. 10. Irrespective of their domicile, all members who have their images in the final list of exhibited photographs are expected to be present at the exhibition venue, on the last day of the event, to collect their photo frames. It will be solely the participant s responsibility to take ownership of his/her frame after the exhibition is over. The organizing committee will not be responsible for unclaimed frames. It is not possible for the committee to hold on to a large number of unclaimed frames, hence all unclaimed frames will be donated to estimable charity organizations. IMPORTANT: The decision of the organizing committee will be final and binding and no changes will be entertained. EXPENSES: For participants, cost per displayed photo would be around INR 2000. This covers the expenses of photo printing, framing/mounting, and rent of the exhibition hall, publicity, marketing & other miscellaneous expenses. The balance amount after all expenses will be donated to the nonprofit organization. Continuing with the do good approach from our previous exhibitions, this time too we plan to donate some funds NGO. We would be collecting INR 500 each from the final list of participants. Members are welcome to contribute more. Cost per photo may change a bit due to printing and framing/mounting charges. It will be declared at the time of result.
PHOTO SELECTION: A panel of eminent judges will aid us in the selection of photographs. The final list of 100 photographs will be announced on the group, as well as the photographers will be notified via email. PHOTO SALES: 1. All members are requested to convey their expected selling price for each photo, in the Photo Submission Form. Default price (3000 INR) must be mentioned. 2. For each photo sold, the photographer must donate INR 500 to the NGO. If a buyer is interested in buying any photo, we (on behalf of the photographer) may accept the advance from the buyer, as a booking amount. The advance will be equivalent to the NGO contribution. 3. Delivering the photo to the buyer will be the responsibility of the photographer. After delivering the photo to the buyer, the photographer should collect the remaining amount directly from the buyer. 4. For photo frames sold beyond the first copy (displayed in the exhibition) the printing and framing charges for additional frames will be borne by the photographer. The D18 sales team will communicate the payment process to individual photographers. 5. Members residing outside Pune should contact our sales team in case of any queries regarding their photo sale. Sales team will be declared at the time of result.
How to submit your photos: Step 1: Go to the URL given to you. You will see the photo upload app. Please use Chrome browser desktop version for uploading photos. In this tool you can upload your profile picture and 5 entries for Drushtikon 2018. Step 2: Upload your profile picture by clicking on profile photo box
Your photo will appear as the profile photo in the App
Step 3: Upload your entries by clicking on ADD button of one of 5 boxes. 1. Choose the photo you want to uploaded 2. Enter Title (Title should be unique for each photo) 3. Enter place at which photo was clicked 4. Enter description of the photograph 5. Choose category. If you can not make the category of your photo select other as category. 6. Mention the expected price. 7. If any of the EXIF data does not populate automatically you will have to fill it correctly. 8. Click Upload
Repeat this for 5 photos and you will see all your photos uploaded. To replace a photo click on the cross. Upload a replacement photo by following same method to upload photos.
To check whether all your photos are uploaded or not, close the application after upload complete. Reopen it, you should see 5 photos in the app. NOTE: You wont get any email after upload is successful. Contact us if any difficulties.!! All the Best P@P!!
