Merchandise and all things nice Trumpets - Blowing Our Own We'd like to say we re not going to go on about how good our goodies are, but we are. All the Carlight merchandise that has been produced in the past has gone on to become collectable. We have seen the classic pennants being advertised for 100, and the butter plates we produced in the 1980s are now selling for over 50 each, so the chances are what you see here are destined to be future classics, but even if they don t become style icons of the future, think how much pleasure you will get from them. Every time you pick up your new Carlight mug full of tea and settle down with a newspaper on a cold and frosty winter s morning, just think how much that smile will be worth as you think of last season s favourite caravaning days. Remember, quality is remembered long after price is forgotten. Talking of price, every penny made from the sale of these items goes towards the upkeep of the Carlight Collection, so you are also helping to preserve a little bit of history for future generations by purchasing something that will make you smile and will, we hope, bring you lasting pleasure. These items are not limited editions as such, but with small production runs we are entirely reliant on the goodwill of our suppliers. So to avoid disappointment, if you like something, buy it it won t be cheaper tomorrow and, if demand is high, it might not ever be available tomorrow, so be bold and buy now. Your purchase helps to keep the Carlight Collection going and will help make you smile every time you use it. Carlight Umbrellas Carlight Brollies are back, even better than last time, with improved release mechanism and the logo on all panels. English Bone China - Tea and Dinner Set Dedicated Carlight china was last made in the 1980s and consisted of range of butter plates, showing the first caravans to go into the Carlight Collection. Prior to that, a range of china was commissioned from Tuscan China in the heart of the Staffordshire Potteries, depicting a Carlight Colonial, and on later versions a Carlight Continental caravan. All these items are now hard to find and are Set of four place-settings 425.00 * (carriage free) * price if items bought individually is 530.31, representing a saving of 105.31 sadly missed by many people, so we have commissioned a new range of china from Foley China Ltd, situated in the heart of the Potteries. The firm supplies pottery to the Historic Royal Palaces Ltd (including Hampton Court and the Tower of London), the Heritage Motor Centre, the National Motor Cycle Museum and Southwark Cathedral, so the quality is every bit as good as you would expect. Interestingly, the firm is only a few hundred yards away from the old Tuscan factory and, in a quirk of fate, one of Foley China s recently retired painters used to work in the old Tuscan factory. The new Carlight china is similar to the original 1950s design, but now depicts the 1935 Page 2
Carlight Light Four, which is many people s favourite caravan in the Carlight Collection. It is traditional bone china with hand-applied 18-carat gold. All the items can be purchased individually, but a substantial discount is available if items are purchased as a full set. A set comprises four each of dinner plates, tea plates, cups, saucers and bowls, plus a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug. We have a comprehensive information sheet available free of charge on the new range, giving the individual item prices and sizes, together with some of the history of china-making in and around the Foley area. Please send us your emal address at mail@carlight.co.uk for your pdf copy. English Bone China - Butter Plates We last made a range of butter plates in the 1980s and the few that we have seen change hands since, have been sold for over 80, so it makes these look very inexpesive. Termed 'butter plates' they can be used for 101 things besides butter, and even if not used for anything, are an attractive display item, a little bit of Carlight history. The butter plate is shown below with the bone china mugs to give an idea of scale. English Bone China - Mugs Butter dishes 14.50 (post free) Bone China Mugs 14.99 each (post free) or 44.99 for a set of 4 (post free) We also have available English bone china mugs (not to be confused with our workshop mugs). These can used on their own or to complement the Dinner and Tea Set. They carry the same design as the rest of the china. Available individually, or as a set of four at a discounted price art that you can use everyday to show your individuality. Page 3
Carlight Pennants Fly the flag - original Carlight pennants are now back (size approximately 350mm x 170mm) and these are 100% cotton panama, so whilst they won t stand being left outside indefinitely (as eventually the colours will start to fade) they look absolutely great. For the purists, the Lincoln Green background is a new colourway, so if you are going for originality, choose the classic logo on a red* background for 1984 and earlier models, or the new logo on the white background for later ones. However, if you want to be a bit different, why not try the Lincoln Green background. The Light Four and Coronet from the Carlight Collection will be sporting the Lincoln-green style from now on. Please let us know which colour you would like when ordering - green, red or white. Colours available White with new burgundy logo Green with classic white logo Red with classic white logo 15.50 each (post free) * Please note that these are printed in antique red to give a slightly faded effect, in keeping with that classic design. Pennant Masts Solid aluminium bar - overall length 22½" (57cm). Drilled at top to take cotton or wire to hold pennant in place. Threaded at base. Please specify if you require these for an existing stainless-steel, shield-type holder (usually on very late 1970s and early 1980s models), or round plastic- (or new aluminium) type as the threads are different for the two types. 14.50 each (post free) Pennant Holders Machined for solid aluminium, direct replacement for the round white plastic-type that were used up to the late 1970s (and were prone to going brittle and breaking) - will fit any model up to new. Each holder takes 3 masts. 28.80 each (post free) Page 4
Key fobs 14.00 (post free) Burgundy enamel on gilt backing and genuine leather backflap. These are made by the same company that makes key fobs and enamel badges for Ascot, Cartier, Guards Polo Club, Henley Royal Regatta... we could go on, but you get the idea you ll not find better quality. Talking of quality, we ve seen poor-quality imitation Carlight key fobs selling for over 10 each, so these genuine Carlight items must be the bargain of the century. Doormats 34.79 (post free) Don't let friends walk on by when the appeal of a Carlight doormat will have them stepping over your threshold. Absolutely brilliant! The printing process means small, beige flecks are sometimes visible in the burgundy, but these aren't really noticeable in use and certainly won't hinder your Workshop mugs 9.99 (post free) Whether your workshop is the garage, office, kitchen or garden, these genuine stoneware mugs fit the bill. Not a lot more we can say about them really, apart from they look brilliant and hold lots of tea, so if your engine-room stoker needs a little encouragement now and again, give them a boost with a Carlight mug brim-full of brew.
