Register Here, which is encircled in the screen shot below. You will be directed to the following screen after clicking the link New User? Register Here. 1
NOTE: Please note that Name of the Candidate, Email Address and Mobile Number (10 digits) cannot be changed in the later stage, hence you must verify and confirm the details given above before you click button. After you click button, you will see the following screen. Accordingly, you will receive an Enrolment ID by E-mail and SMS. 2
STEP 2: Filling in the Application Form You must have to enter Enrolment ID/E-mail address and JAPS Password in the login page and click button to login to JAPS. After logging in, you will see the following screen. Click to get Candidate Application Form Page, shown below. Candidate has to fill all the fields as per the requirements. Please keep necessary details while filling the form. 3

You can now start filling the application form as detailed below. JAM 2015 Exam Details: (1) If you wish to appear in only one JAM Test paper then select JAM Paper from the drop down list. (2) If you wish to appear in two JAM Test Papers then first select number of test papers as 'two' and select the test papers from the pull down menu at two places as shown in the screenshot below. 5
(3) Please note that the JAM Test Paper(s) cannot be changed under any circumstances after final submission of the application form. (4) Select the three Choices of Examination cities by selecting from the drop down menus of City 1, City 2 and City 3. Applicant s Personal Details: (1) Select your date of birth from Day, Month and Year drop down lists. (2) Select Gender. (3) Type your Parent/Guardian name and mobile number. (4) Select Nationality, Category, Person with Disability (PwD) status 6
(5) If your PwD is 'Yes', then you have to select your Scribe requirement option as well (screen shot given below). (6) Before choosing 'Yes' or 'No' for scribe requirement, first read the details of Scribe by placing the mouse at 'here' as shown in the screenshot below. Communication Details: Give correct address of communication and verify the same before submitting the form. Select ID Proof and give the reference number of the ID Proof in ID Proof Number. Note that you have to produce the same ID Card in original during examination for verification. 7
Qualifying Degree Details: Select your Qualifying Degree, Type your Discipline of Qualifying Degree, status on whether graduated or not in the qualifying degree, year of qualifying degree, select either CGPA or percentage of marks from the pull down menu and enter the marks obtained. Enter your College/University Name, city/town, state and PIN Code. Once you save these details, you may edit them at a later stage as long as you have not submitted the complete application. However, this is within the deadline of application closure. Upload Photograph: The candidates must pay attention to upload good quality photographs. Poor quality of photographs submitted will lead to rejection of their JAM application, without any refund of the application fees. The JAM admit card and score card will be generated with the photograph that was submitted along with the application form. 8
Photograph Requirements 1. The photograph must be in color and must be taken in a professional studio. Photograph taken using a Mobile phone and other self-composed portraits are NOT acceptable. 2. Photograph must be taken with white or very light background. 3. The photograph must have been taken after 1st July 2014. 4. In the photograph, the height of the face (between chin and the top of the forehead) should occupy about 50% of the height of the photograph. 5. The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth or any shadow. The photograph must show full frontal view with both ears being visible and eyes open. 6. If the candidate normally wears spectacles, glare on glasses is not acceptable in his/her photo. Glare can be avoided with a slight downward tilt of the glasses or by removing the glasses for the photo shoot. 7. The candidate must not wear spectacles with dark or tinted glasses, only clear glasses are permitted. 8. Ask the photo studio to provide the image in a JPEG format and also on a standard 3.5 cm 4.5 cm print (Width x Height). 9. Maximum pixel resolution for JPEG: 480 x 640 (.03 Mega Pixel) (Ask the studio to reduce it to this resolution if it is higher). 10. File size should be between 5KB and 100KB. 11. Minimum pixel resolution for JPEG: 240 x 320. 12. For the candidate's own benefit it may be prudent not to intentionally change his/her facial features or hair style as in the photograph until the day of the exam. How to check the photo specifications in paint application (windows)?: Right click photo image > select Open with > select Paint 9
You will see the screen (as an example) as below Checking the Resolution, horizontal and vertical size: Click Properties option as shown in the screen shot below, to check resolution, horizontal and vertical size of your image. 10
Resolution, this should be greater than 200dpi Height should be 640 Width should be 480 If properties of the image file are as shown above, i.e., height=640 pixel, width=480 pixel, then you can upload the image file, otherwise, you can resize the image. The procedure for resizing the image is given below. However, you have to set the required resolution during photo processing. CHECK THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL PIXEL SIZE Click. Then you find the screen shown as 11
Click on and check Horizontal and Vertical pixel size and crop the image to 480 pixel in width and 640 pixel in height. Cropping of image: 12
Uploading Signature: Before uploading your signature, you have to check the following specification of the image file. 1. Please draw a rectangular box of size 7 cm 2 cm (Width x Height) on an A4 white paper. The candidate should put his/her signature with black or dark blue ink pen within this box. 2. Get the signature digitally image scanned by a professional in JPEG/JPG format using a scanner at 200 pixels per inch (dpi), and get the image cropped to the box by the professional. 3. Maintain 420 pixels in width and 120 pixels in height. 4. Only JPEG image formats will be accepted. 5. The maximum pixel resolution for the image is 560 160. 6. The minimum pixel resolution for the image is 280 80. 7. Photographs of the signatures taken using mobile phone or digital cameras are not acceptable, and can result in disqualification of the application without any refund of the fee. The cropped image will look like (1) Save the image. (2) Ensure that the file size is between 5KB and 100KB. (3) Have pixel width in the range of 280 to 560 and ensure that the width to height aspect ratio is in the range 3.15 to 3.97. 13
Once the photo and signature are uploaded successfully, the screen will be seen as below: Uploading Documents: If applicable, upload SC/ST certificate in.pdf format under upload category certificate and PwD certificate under upload PwD certificate. After uploading the images and certificates, you must accept the declaration. Then choose the appropriate drop down button for "Where did you first come to know about JAM 2015"? Now you can proceed for payment by pressing 14
STEP 3: Payment of the Application Fee Now click on. You will get the following screen for various payment options. You have to choose one of the payment options. 15
NET BANKING If you choose 'State Bank of India' option under 'Net Banking' then the following screen will appear. Login with your SBI bank credentials and make payment. CARD PAYMENTS State Bank ATM cum Debit Card If you choose 'State Bank ATM-cum-Debit Card' option under 'Card Payments' then the following screen will appear. Use your card credentials and make payment. 16
Other Bank Debit Cards If you choose 'Other Bank Debit Cards' option under 'Card Payments' then the following screen will appear. Use your card credentials and make payment. Credit Cards If you choose 'Credit Cards' option under 'Card Payments' then the following screen will appear. Use your card credentials and make payment. 17
OTHER PAYMENT MODES Other Banks Internet Banking If you choose 'Other Banks Internet Banking' option under 'Other Payment Modes' then the following screen will appear. Select your Bank and then make payment. SBI BRANCH (Challan Payment) If you choose 'SBI Branch' option under 'Other Payment Modes' then the following screen will appear. After Confirming, the following screen will appear. 18
By clicking the link 'Click here to download the form in pdf', you can download the challan. Take printout of the challan and deposit the amount in any SBI branch. After generation of Challan, in 120 seconds you will redirected back to the JAPS page and here again your Challan can be downloaded. After the payment is successful, the payment information gets updated in the candidate's JAPS login typically within 72 hours. The candidate must login to JAPS for this information. They may contact the JAM office in case this information is not updated. Once the payment information is updated, then the candidate has to upload the SBIstamped 'Institute Copy' of the challan in JAPS. Finally, the candidate is required to send the SBI-stamped 'Institute Copy' of the challan to the organizing Institute, by post at the address 'Organizing Chairperson, JAM 2015, IIT Guwahati, Guwahati - 781039, Assam'. STEP 4: Downloading the Application After JAPS acknowledges the successful payment of the application fee (through Online/Challan), the candidate will be able to download the complete filled in application form with fee payment details in.pdf format. This file can be printed for the candidate's personal records and for further communications, if required. With the submission of application form and JAPS acknowledging the successful fee payment, the candidate has successfully submitted the application for JAM 2015. The candidate must remember JAPS enrolment ID and JAPS password, and must login periodically to see the status of his/her application, to download the admit card and to know the results later. He/she is also advised to keep visiting JAM 2015 website for any query or updated information. **************** 19
