OBITUARY Last Name: DEMANN First Name: MARY Middle Name or Initial: News Paper: FARIBAULT DAILY NEWS FARIBAULT, Date: MARCH 11, 1953 Maiden Name: REMICK Funeral services for Mrs. Mary DeMann, 87, were held at the Boldt Funeral Home Friday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Stewart Dale officiating. Death occurred at her home, 1022 Central Ave., March 3 after a lingering illness. During the services Mrs. Torger Lien sang "Rock Of Ages" and "Abide With Me." Interment was made at St. John's Cemetery in Forest Township. Pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased: Leonard Zabel, Conrad Stearns, William Harkins, and George DeCoux, Faribault; George DeMann, LaCrosse, Wis. and John DeMann, Minneapolis. Mrs. DeMann (nee Mary Remick) was born at Kent, Ohio, April 26, 1865, and moved to Rice County with her parents in 1869. She was married to Charles DeMann March 31, 1891, and lived at Red Lake Falls until 1903 when they returned to Rice County. They lived on a farm until 1927, at which time they moved to Faribault where she resided until the time of her death. Mrs. DeMann was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, George and Walter; and one daughter Ann. She is survived by two sons, Henry and Charles; five daughters, Mrs. Sherman Fee (Elizabeth), Mrs. Emma Baldwin, Mrs. John Zabel (Elsie), Mary, and Claire, all of Faribault; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Stehly of Faribault and Mrs. Charles Wille of Hampton; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Adrian Brule, Mr. and Mrs. George Berreault, and Kenneth Remick, all of Red Lake Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Remick, Windom; Mrs. Hazel DeMann, Ann DeMann, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, James E. De Mann, Michael DeMann, John DeMann, and William Luxenburg, all of Minneapolis; Mrs. Roy Mathiasen, St. Cloud; George DeMann, LaCrosse, Wis., Elaine DeMann, Mankato; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wille, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wille, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wille, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Sachs, all of Hampton, Ernest DeMann, Mrs. John Kraus, and Mrs. D. L. Hoffman, Farmington; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Olinger and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Remick, St. Paul; Mrs. Mary Adkins, Kimball. Present at the funeral were all of the children and the grandchildren of the deceased.
