It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Judith at the end of the school holidays. As you all know, Judith has been a main stay of the shop since just after we opened, and she will be sadly missed by us all. Jude may be leaving the shop but we will still see her around as she has agreed to become our shop quilter. Jackie, who has been with us for just about as long as Judith, (She followed Judith to us) has offered to put up a class for us for term 3. So as one door closes another is opened. Davena s class this term is something special in blues but also a second quilt using the same techniques but a simpler pattern so very suitable for the ladies who have done their beginners and would like to try something a little more challenging. Gayle has a really lovely pieced bag as well as some super quilts. And I have a few new quilts to offer as well. We hope to see you in the shop checking out the class samples and all the new fabrics we have in stock. I would like to say thank you to all the ladies who visited and took advantage of our weekly specials last term. I have had a play with it and this terms weekly specials are on page three. This quilt is made with simple piecing, using your favourite feature fabric, and Gayle will show you how to bind your quilt with double bindind to frame and finish your new quilt. Join Davena and she will show you the many uses of it. Patterns for both Twisted Triangles and Tri-Recs Twirls will go home with each student from the class. The Twisted Triangles Quilt look difficult but it is not so, I think the pieced border makes this quilt. But you will be amazed how easy it is to make. It is made with Fat ¼ s so if you have a stack of fabrics all from one range this may be the quilt for it. Now that it is all together I really like it. It has been made from a range of fabric we had when the shop was only a few years old. Jackie made hers quilt from Flannels a couple of years ago. But I think it would look just as lovely in cottons. Another fast and fun quilt that makes the feature fabric the star of the show. I put this quilt together from start to finish in a weekend. Made using strata s and strips this is a quilt that takes no time at all to put together. If you have a fabric that needs to stand alone this may be the pattern for you.
