Color Coding READ THIS BEFORE YOU BEGIN Purchased greenhouse and all accessories & systems require a specific installation sequence. All components have been separated into different categories based on common grouping and/or the chronology of installation. Each category has been color coded. All parts within any given color category will be labeled accordingly, and each color category will have its own respective instruction manual. The following illustrates a highly recommended order in which all components should be installed. IMPORTANT: There are some procedures that can occur simultaneously, depending on available assistants and equipment, but there are some procedures that MUST be done in chronological order. Before you begin, review below step recommendation and all technical documents to better understand overall building kit design. 1 RED - MAIN FRAME (Rafters, Purlins, Chord Support and Cabling) 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 ORANGE - END WALL FRAMING (Columns, Cross Beams and Door Framing) BLUE - END WALL CLADDING (Polycarbonate, Termination and Flashing) PINK - RIDGE VENT (Framing, Motor and Drive Shaft) GREEN - ROOF CLADDING (Film, Inflation Kits and Termination) YELLOW - EVAPORATIVE COOLING (Framing, Cooling Pads and Plumbing) BROWN - END WALL VENT (Framing, Motor and Drive Shaft) WHITE - ACCESSORIES (Exhaust Fans, Ceiling Fans and Light Traps) PURPLE - STATIC BLACKOUT (Monofilament, Fixation and Sealing) BLACK - MOVABLE BLACKOUT (Fabric, Leading Edge, Motor and Drive Shaft) GRAY - BLACKOUT SIDE POCKET (Framing and Polycarbonate) Near the beginning of each color-coded instruction guide, you will find information to lead you through the installation and assembly steps. This information identifies at what point during the assembly the respective components are installed or attached to the main building frame. Since we cannot anticipate changes made by the customer/contractor, all instructions assume the use of accessories purchased from us to be used on the building the accessory was designed for. Each instruction guide presents the basic steps to install the color-coded components. When in doubt, consult the services of a qualified contractor experienced with the assembly of similar structures. 2 Revision date: 01.26.17

Color Coding WHITE Accessories Installation Chronology MUST READ: All components that are color coded WHITE represent the accessories of the greenhouse, including exhaust fans, ceiling fans and breathable wall light traps. ***Color coded components that MUST be installed before installing WHITE: RED ORANGE BLUE PINK GREEN If above color coded components have not yet been installed, put this manual down and consult those manuals to install those components before returning. If above color coded components have been installed, gather all components that have been color coded with a WHITE label or paint splotch, and continue on the next page with the installation of the accessories. ATTENTION: Recommended installation order is not critically definitive. Installation of film cladding will protect the interior of the greenhouse from weather elements, but it will also increase the temperature. Depending on personal preference and/or availability of assistants and equipment, there are some procedures that can occur before or simultaneously with this procedure. Important Information READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO INSTALL THE END CLADDING. UNPACK AND IDENTIFY PARTS The following steps will ensure that you have all the necessary parts before you begin. 1. Unpack the contents of the shipment and place where you can easily inventory the parts. Refer to the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets. Verify that all parts listed on the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets are present. If anything is missing or you have questions, consult the parts guide (below) and all diagrams for clarification, or contact Customer Service. NOTE: At this time, you do not need to open the plastic bags containing smaller parts such as fasteners and clamps. For replacement or missing parts, call 1.800.245.9881 for assistance. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE Following the instructions as presented will help ensure the proper assembly of the evaporative cooling system. The steps outlining the assembly process are as follows: 1. Verify that all parts are included in the shipment. Notify customer service for questions or concerns. 2. Read these instructions and all additional documentation included with the shipment before you begin. 3. Gather the tools and assistants. 4. For best results, assemble the components in the order they are presented in these instructions. ELECTRICAL WARNING CONSULT THE SERVICES OF A QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN WHEN INSTALLING THE WATER PUMP OR ANY ELECTRICALLY POWERED ACCESSORIES. Thank you for purchasing a Series 500 greenhouse kit with a black-out system, ventilation & evaporative cooling. When properly assembled and maintained, this product will provide years of reliable service. These instructions include helpful hints and important information needed to safely assemble and properly maintain the structure. Please read these instructions before you begin. If you have any questions during the assembly, contact Customer Service for assistance. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Wear eye and ear protection. Wear gloves when handling metal. Use a portable GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) when working with electric power tools and cords. REQUIRED TOOLS The following list identifies the main tools needed to assemble and install the breathable wall light trap and kit components (if applicable). Additional tools may be needed. Tape measure and marker. Variable speed drill (cordless with extra batteries works best) & 3/8" drill bit. Small hammer and gloves. Level (length depends on kit dimensions). 7/16" & 1/2" wrenches and a socket set containing 7/16" & 1/2" deep-well socket. Wrench set, tool to cut 1/8" cable, & pliers. C-clamps or similar tools. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Proper care and maintenance is important. Check the following items periodically to ensure breathable wall light trap components are secure and functioning properly. Check all fasteners to verify they remain tight. Never climb or stand on any part of the light trap and its frame components. Ensure nothing blocks either side of light trap. Inspect all electrical connections and wires. Repair or replace as needed. 4 Revision date: 01.26.17

INSTALL SLANT FANS, SHUTTER ASSEMBLIES & ADAPTER BOES Adaptor boxes need to be installed before the end wall polycarbonate cladding is to be attached, but because the light trap components cannot be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time, DO NOT install the light traps at this time. Complete the instructions shown on the next three pages to install the fans, shutters and adaptor boxes, and then return to install the light traps ONLY AFTER the greenhouse film cover (GREEN) has been installed. Complete these steps: Fans, Shutters & Adaptor Boxes 1. Set fan/shutter in place and install four (4) FA4482B Tek screws (one in each flange). Do not install in corners or in center position of any fan/shutter flange. These are mounting bolt positions. Support fan on outside if needed. 2. From inside the building, drill 3/8 holes for mounting bolts through shutter/fan flanges and the 1.5"x1.5" tube framing in locations shown below (x's) for the correct fan size. Consult ORANGE pages for fan framing details. Step 1 Step 2 Tek Screw Tek Screw support blocks WIRING NOTE: Read through this procedure and determine at what point you want to connect power to the fan. Run wire to the fan before installing the shutters, or complete this procedure and remove the protective wire grate from outside the fan. Connect wire and reinstall the wire grate. IMPORTANT: All wiring to be completed by an electrician and according to local codes. Revision date: 01.26.17 Tek Screw Tek Screw Drill a hole in each corner and one between each corner as shown by 's in the diagram to the right: eight (8) holes total. 5

Fans, Shutters & Adaptor Boxes 3. With assistance, center adapter box over fan and shutter opening and on top of Tek screws. 4. Clamp adapter box in place. Use a level to ensure box is positioned correctly. 5. From outside end wall, run a drill bit through all mounting holes (drilled in previous step) to mark these locations on the adapter box flange. Also, use a marking pen to mark the adapter box top to ensure correct repositioning. 6. Remove clamps, set adapter box on a flat surface, and finish drilling the 3/8" mounting holes in locations marked in previous step. 7. Take the FA3182 elevator bolts and install one in each mounting hole by inserting from outside the end wall. (Ends of bolts will be inside the building flat head of bolt to the outside.) 8. Add a FAMF03B fender washer and 115161 jam nut to each bolt and tighten to secure fan/shutter. Remove Tek screws. Fans, Shutters & Adaptor Boxes 9. With assistance, lift box back into position to check mounting hole alignment with bolts. Ream mounting holes as needed to allow box to slide onto each mounting bolt. Once you are able to easily place adapter box in position, carefully set it on a flat surface with its mounting flange facing up. 10. Next, take the 111983 weather stripping and attach it to the adapter box flange. Make small cuts at each bolt hole to allow mounting bolts to pass through when box is lifted into position. ATTENTION: Weather stripping expands quickly. Have all 5/16" nuts, lock washers and flat washers ready to install before weather stripping is applied to box flange. Complete the next step before weather stripping is fully expanded. Do not apply stripping and allow it set for later installation. 11. With assistance, lift adapter box into place and set onto all mounting bolts. (Clamp to end wall if necessary.) Install a FALB02B nut (a), FAMA37B lock washer (b), and FAME07B flat washer (c) onto each bolt. See diagrams below. Step 10 111983 Weather Stripping Repeat all steps for each fan. Once all fans, shutters, and adaptor boxes have been installed, continue by assembling and installing the evaporative cooling system. ASSEMBLE LIGHT TRAP VANE KIT COMPONENTS Light Traps WARNING: To prevent damage to the light trap components DO NOT expose to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. If possible, do not complete this step until film cover (GREEN) has been installed to protect from the sun. Diagrams below shows basic light trap to adapter box connection. Sample shown may differ from actual components. Install a flat washer against bolt head and locknut at each connection. Diagram shows four connection points. Actual assembly may have more fasteners. Consult the following pages for detailed instructions. Light Traps ASSEMBLE LIGHT TRAP VANE KIT COMPONENTS Size of vane kits is dependent on greenhouse length. Purchased vane kit may not match vane kits shown in diagrams. All applications are the same. Adjust accordingly. Gather vane kit components and complete these steps: 1. Unpack vanes keeping them in the same order as packed. 4. Slide a tube spacer onto each rod and add another vane. 5. Repeat Step 4 until all vanes are used. 2. Place one (1) rod cap nut firmly on one end of a rod. Use a nut driver (or similar tool) and a hammer to seat cap on rod. Repeat to install a cap on one end of each remaining rods. 3. With assistance, stand rods upright with cap nuts at the bottom. Place one vane over all rods. Vane Spacer 6. After installing all vanes, install a cap nut on the end of each rod to secure final vane. Cap Nut ATTENTION: Before installing cap nut, determine if a 3/8" spacer is needed. Vanes should be tight once final cap nut is installed. 7. Finally, turn assembled vane kit so vanes are vertical. 8. Continue by assembling vane kit frame. See next page. 10 Revision date: 01.26.17

Light Traps ASSEMBLE LIGHT TRAP VANE KIT FRAME Gather parts: 116139 rivets Light trap frame top/bottom panels (2) Light trap frame side panels (2) Light trap aluminum angle (sides) (2) Light trap aluminum angle (top/bottom) (2) Complete these steps: 1. Use diagram below to attach aluminum angles to top and bottom frame panels first using rivets. See ATTENTION note below. NOTE: Aluminum angle for top and bottom panels will extend beyond panel edges as shown. B 2. Next attach aluminium angle to side panels in place using rivets. 3. Attach light trap to building. 4. Continue with next procedures as instructed. ATTENTION: Bottom aluminum angle includes a grommet hole for the cable to pass through for motorized shutter applications. Light Traps INSTALL LIGHT TRAP 1. Tighten all nuts and remove clamps if used. 2. Attach light trap to adapter box. ATTENTION: Each 1/4" nut and bolt combination uses two (2) flat washers one installed against the bolt head and one installed against the locknut. For easier bolt installation, lift the light trap into position, align all bolt holes, and clamp the components together. Then install the fasteners. Assistants are required when installing the assembled light trap. Do not attempt to attach alone without a proper lift. Ceiling Circulation Fans INSTALL CEILING FANS 1. Consult layout diagram below and determine fan locations. Avoid obstructing webbing and/or blackout components. If necessary, consult PURPLE and BLACK instructions manuals to familiarize with those component locations, and/ or install those components first before installing ceiling circulating fans. 2. Using the fan mounting brackets, mark and drill 5/16" through-holes through the 2"x2" rafter support chord. VERIFY THE HOLE ORIENTATION IS BOTTOM/TOP. 3. Attach using FAG312B bolts, FALF35B lock-nuts, and FAME50B flat washers. Verify orientation matches diagrams below based on purchased shelter length. 4. Repeat for all included fans. Consult manual included with fan for further installation instruction. NOTE: If electrical for the fan is to be installed ABOVE the 2"x2" header, field drill a third hole for the electrical cord to go through, or else the cord will obstruct the blackout system components. 2"x2" Rafter Support Chord FAG312B bolt, FALF35B lock nut & FAME07 washer Fan Bracket GENERAL RECOMMENDED LAYOUT FOR MAIMUM CIRCULATION 36-48 Length 60-72 Length Over 72 Feet Revision date: 01.26.17 13
