Design Manufacture Calibration Qualification

Subsea Sensors (Matre Products) Siemens Subsea has an established global reputation for the manufacture and delivery of market-leading subsea sensors. Our sensors and transmitters deliver excellent performance and represent the ultimate in reliability. The manufacture of these instruments began in the 1980 s and have the benefit of over 3 decades experience to keep our manufacture at a top level and we are committed to provide sensors and transmitters which are suited to our customer needs and requirements. Our Matre products are produced with care, pride and attention to detail that diectly stems from many years subsea experience. The facility is located on the South West coast of Norway between Bergen and Stavanger on the island of Bømlo. Contents Sensor Product Range... 4 Quartz Crystal Sensor Technology... 5 Strain Gauge (WEPS-100 Series) Sensor Technology... 6 Differential Pressure Sensor Technology... 7 Tore Geitung (right) & Morten Aage Skjellevik (left) with some of the batch of Quartz Crystal Sensors which were manufactured when they both worked for the company over 15 years ago. When these sensors were returned for callibration and refurbishment it was found that after testing, they had the same accuracy as when they were first manufactured. They were then simply cleaned up, repainted and were returned for use again subsea.

Wellhead Electro Mechanical Pressure and Temperature Sensing At Siemens Subsea Sensors we use the very latest manufacturing techniques and processes to ensure our high integrity and high reliability sensors are suitable for the harsh environments of the oil and gas industry. In particular, the ElecTRON beam welding technique improves reliability through: Clean, reproducible, high integrity weld joints Low distortion No oxidisation Minimal weld bead Accuracy Repeatability Welding of dissimilar metals The key to our success has been the extensive knowledge of our workforce who are dedicated to delivering products to meet the specific needs of our clients and the challenging environments in which they operate. 1952 1956 1984 1988 1994 1998 Company Founded First Monitoring System First Downhole Gauge First Subsea Sensor based on Quartz Crystal sensing Technology Sputtered Thinfilm Pressure Sensing Technology introduced First Subsea dp Sensor

Subsea Sensors Product Range With Siemens Subsea Sensors transducer electronics, a range of sensors are available. Most interfaces and protocols used Subsea, e.g. 1) 4-20 ma, CAN Open, 2) RS485, MODBUS, 3) RS485 KOS and 4) SIIS 2 (CAN Open) and are available as single pressure, dual pressure and with or without integrated single or dual temperature sensors. Quartz Crystal Sensors are available as single pressure with integrated temperature and differ from the rest of the sensor range as they are available with a frequency output. PRODUCT RANGE Combined Pressure and Temperature Sensors Dual / Single Pressure and Dual / Single Temperature in a single housing Pressure Sensing Pressure up to 1035 Bar Best Total Error Band ± 0.02% FS Temperature Sensing Temperatures between -40 C to 180 C Total Error Band ± 0.3% FS Differential Pressure Measurement Sensors Maximum Differential Pressure Range 0-30 Bar Maximum Line Pressure to 1035 Bar Other Products SIL (Safety integrated Level) Rated Pressure Transducers SCM (Subsea Control Module) Hydraulic Pressure Transducers Valve Position Sensors: Linear for gate valves and rotational for ball valves Proximity Switches Sand Erosion Probe Customised Solutions If you have a need for a special measurement requirement, please talk to our Technical Team to discuss your requirements and come up with a solution. WEPS-2 Quartz Crystal Sensors These are High End sensors and are based on DigiQuartz Pressure Sensing Technology where the excellent performance is achieved through the use of a precision quartz crystal resonator whose frequency of oscillation varies with pressure induced stress. Quartz crystals are chosen because of their remarkable repeatability, low hysteresis and excellent stability. Introduced to the Subsea Market in 1988 it has a well proven track record for it s superior quality and reliability. Sensors that have been deployed for more than a decade and returned to Matre Instruments for calibration checks, show no measurable stability drift. SPECIFICATION Total Error Band: ± 0.02% FS Pressure Ranges: 0-5000psia, 0-10000psia & 0-15000psia Standard Temperature Ranges: from -40ºC to 150ºC and from -40ºC to 180ºC Product Features: Extremely low drift Excellent track record Subsea Proven double barrier seal technology Since 1988 over 1800 units produced

WEPS 100 Series Sputtered Thin Film Sensors WEPS (Wellhead Pressure Sensors) are based on a pressure sensing element where a thin-film full-bridge strain gauge circuit is sputtered on to an all stainless-steel wetted surface pressure diaphragm. The sputtered metal strain gauge circuit offers superior long-term stability and higher temperature capability than other resistor bridge strain gauge technologies. SPECIFICATION Total Error Band: ± 0.025% FS (digital) ± 0.08% FS (analogue) Pressure Ranges: 0-5000psia, 0-10000psia & 0-15000psia Standard Temperature Ranges: from -40 to 180º Celsius and from -40 to 180 º Celsius Product Features: Since 1994 over 10,000 units produced Improved accuracy through intensive callibration Proven double barrier seal technology Proven track record including HIPPS systems Available for use down to -70 º Celsius for start up in high flow gas wells SIL rated for Anologue SIL rating available upon request for digital (MODBUS etc)

SDP-5 & SDP-6 Differential Pressure Sensors These transmitters ensure highly precise measurements of differential pressure which is then used to measure fluid flow and liquid levels. A wide-range of models is available, all able to operate in high line pressures. Introduced to the Subsea Market in 1998 it has a well proven track record for it s excellent quality and reliability. SDP-5 are self contained units with two sensing probes and SDP-6 have a remote seal sensor system. SPECIFICATION Sensing Element: Silicon Differential Pressure Range (URL*): 0-0.32 Bar, 0-1.3 Bar, 0-5 Bar & 0-30 Bar * Upper Range Limit (Max value) Maximum Line Pressure: 690 Bar (10,000 PSI) Test Pressure: 1035 Bar (15,000 PSI) Accuracy: ± 0.065% Span (for spans greater than1/10 of span) Stability (drift): ± 0.1% of URL(Upper Range Limit - max value) for 24 months SDP 5 Line pressure effect, Zero, 0-500 Bar: ± 0.2% of URL*/100 Bar (Zero shift if calibrated at actual line pressure the zero effect can be neglected) SDP 5 Line pressure effect, Span, 0-500 Bar: ± 0.2% of cal. span CR) /100 Bar (Span Shift) SDP 6 Line pressure effect, Zero, 0-1035 Bar: ± 0.2% of URL*/100 Bar (Zero shift if calibrated at actual line pressure the zero effect can be neglected) SDP 6 Line pressure effect, Span, 0-1035 Bar: ± 0.2% of cal. span CR) /100 Bar (Span Shift) SDP 5 Temperature effect 0-500 BAR: ± (0.25 x Span + 0.05 x URL) / 1400 (for spans mbar/ºc) SDP 5 Temperature effect: ± 0.065% Span (for spans greater than1/10 of span)
