November 07, 2017 Poonguzhali becomes first woman to be appointed as Senior DDG of TERM N Poonguzhali has become the first woman to be appointed as senior Deputy Director General, Tamil Nadu, Telecom Enforcement Resource Monitoring (TERM), Department of Telecommunications (DoT). She is an Indian telecom service officer of the 1979 batch and an alumnus of IIT Madras. She also bagged the distinguished woman engineer s award by the Institute of Engineers. Prior to joining, she served BSNL as Chief General Manager, Tamil Nadu Circle. Indian Railways launches the main arc in the World s highest bridge on Chenab Indian Railways has launched the main arc of the World s highest bridge on the river Chenab. The bridge will be 359 meters above the bed of the river Chenab and will be taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris by about 30 meters. India s Largest CDQ Facility at Tata Steel Kalinganagar Tata Steel has established India s largest Coke Dry Quenching (CDQ) facility, capable of handling 200 metric tonnes per hour, at its state-of-the-art steel plant at Kalinganagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur district of Odisha. CDQ is a heat recovery system to cool hot coke from coke ovens. It is one of the best energy-efficient and environment-friendly facility in steel production where hot coke removed from coke ovens at a temperature of around 1,000 degree Celsius is cooled and kept dry with the inert gas. Rs 10000 cr MOU signed between Govt of India and Patanjali A memorandum of understanding (MoU) of Rs 10,000 Crore was signed between the Government of India (GoI) and Patanjali at the World Food India 2017. The MoU was signed by Managing Director of Patanjali, Acharya Balkrishna and Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing in the Government of India. New Finance Secretary Appointed by the Union Government The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has designated Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia as the new Finance Secretary.
