After the honorary lap, survivors and caregivers will enjoy a complimentary lunch and are invited to activities in the Survivor Sanctuary. New Hope Goes Purple to Celebrate Relay for Life This year the Borough of New Hope with support of the New Hope Chamber of Commerce will be awash in the official Relay color of Purple beginning May 20 through May 31. New Hope businesses will be supporting American Cancer Society s Relay efforts by displaying signs/posters, decorating storefronts in Relay s purple, promoting purple merchandise and displaying coin jars. Please continue to show your Relay spirit and support the New Hope businesses. Need an Event Fundraiser for Relay? It s not too late!!. Face painting. Sell flowers. Sell food, drinks and baked goods / candies. Sell jewelry Let us know your on-site fundraiser by the May 12 th Team Captains Meeting, and we ll add it to the website and the event activity board on display at Relay or contact Linda Dracopoulas at lindaann_730@msn.com. CAMP SITES Bridge Street Parking Lot You may set up on Friday, May 29 th, after 6:00pm. Camp sites will be marked with chalk on the curb. Saturday: You may drive into the parking lot to unload your vehicles until 8:30am. ** Please use caution!! We ve had a few missed calls with children!! ** For safety reasons and fire lanes, ALL vehicles must be moved to permanent parking as indicated on the site plan by 8:45am. Shuttle bus service from outlying parking lots to the site will run from 8:00am 8:00pm on Saturday. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE FROM BRIDGE STREET!!! Please note the small parking lot parallel to Bridge Street will be reserved for survivors participating in the Survivor Ceremony. If you need handicap parking, please contact Chris McShea. Porta-Potties will be provided. Restrooms next to the gym in the school will also be available.

Relay For Life is one way of recognizing loved ones who are surviving cancer and remembering those who have lost the battle. At dusk, the track in encircled with luminaria decorated with the names of those who have battled cancer. This ceremony of light symbolizes the hope and courage with which we all continue to fight cancer. Meals are not provided. Teams should plan accordingly for food and drinks. Grills ARE allowed. If you use a charcoal grill, there will be a designated area for you to dump your coals once they are cold. Some teams may be selling food, boxed meals, and snacks. Luminaria A form is included in the newsletter (if you are receiving this newsletter electronically, forms are included on the website). You can purchase luminaria at the May 12 th and May 26 th meetings, or at Relay until 3:00pm. The luminaria ceremony begins at dusk, approx 9:00pm on Saturday. We invite you to read a poem or say a few words about the person you are honoring or remembering 2009 Relay Activities!! Check the activities board at the registration table for times and activities throughout the day! Equipment will be available for soccer, basketball, volleyball, Frisbee, etc.
