Classic traditional forms and 19th Century American design elements such as spindle legs, X-stretchers and floral-motif hardware add a soft vintage romance to the collection. The soft, creamy Couture White finish on Sandcastle features intricate hand-work that creates a subtle brushstroke texture, creating a timeworn, repurposed appearance. Custom-designed hardware is punctuated with a pretty floral motif, including a flower-petal back plate and stylized ring pull. Bring the freshness of the ocean breeze or tranquil lake shore sunshine into your home with Sandcastle. Full height, full depth and full width drawers for maximum storage capacity. All drawers have strong, timetested English or French dovetail construction, for years of problemfree use. Plywood drawer bottoms are attached to plywood drawer sides for strength and durability. Our top-of-the-line bedroom collections include bottom drawers on major case pieces that are cedar-lined for the aromatic benefit and preservation of clothing. Some night stands offer receptacles on the back of case. Wood & Veneer Construction Many of our furniture items are constructed of hardwood solids and veneers or hand-painted finishes over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture. Due to a wide variety of wood species and decorative designs used in our furniture styles, variations in construction are possible.
