Powder compound (xanthan gum) See chart below for details 1-3 The Insta-DE 2 product is to be solely installed on flat surfaces. Prepare the flat wall/surface by cleaning the entire area. Do not install if any imperfections are found on the surface such as drilled holes, glue/tape residue, dents, etc. We recommend sanding the area first to make sure you have a clean flat and smooth surface. Failure to remove such imperfections can damage the product. The dry erase function of this product requires a smooth writeable surface and Elite Screens is not responsible should these instructions are not be properly followed. Take the Insta-DE 2 film roll out of the package and unroll it on a clean surface and lay it on its front side.
Installation using double-sided tape For models IWB86VW2, IWB97W2, and IWB105HW2 1. Begin by marking the size of the screen size to be installed on the wall or surface. 2. Peel off one side of the double-sided adhesive film tape and apply it from top to bottom (vertically) every four to six inches apart from one end to the other. 3. After the double-sided tape has been applied, completely peel off the first strip and peel off the rest about an inch as shown below. Tape strip completely removed Two people required: 4. Carefully pick up the Insta-DE2 film and make sure the back side is facing the wall it will be installed on. Do not allow the film to fold in any way to avoid permanent damage. Note: The back side of the Insta-DE2 is shinny. 5. Gently bring the Insta-DE2 s edge as close as possible to the installation area, align it, and gently press on the Insta-DE 2 with your fingers in a up and down sliding motion to finish attaching the first end. Continue to completely remove the remaining tape strips and repeat procedure on strip at a time to ensure no air bubbles/pockets are created. 6. Repeat the process throughout the rest of the material and use the smoothing tool in an upward and downward motion to assure a flat installation and to remove any air bubbles/pockets that could arise. Caution: The adhesive surface of the double-sided tape is meant to be permanent for the life of the product. It does not remove easily. Installation using the powder compound For models IWB4.210, IWB4.220, and IWB4.230 1. Begin by marking the area of the screen size to be installed on the wall or surface. 2. Pour an entire powder bag into a spray bottle and mix with 27 oz. of room temperature water and shake well. This will make the mixture into an adhesive compound for sticking the film to the wall. Note: Once the liquid adhesive has been mixed, it must be applied within 4 hours to ensure a sealed installation of the Insta-DE2 to the wall. Use one bag for every 27 oz of water. 3. Spray the adhesive evenly on the wall within the marked area where the Insta-DE2 screen will be applied. 4. Carefully pick up the Insta-DE2 film and make sure the back side is facing the wall it will be installed. Be careful and do not allow the film to fold in any way to avoid permanent creasing or wrinkles. Note: The back side of the Insta-DE 2 is shiny. 5. Align the edge of the Insta-DE2 to the marked area that now has the adhesive compound and attach it to the surface. Once the edge has been glued to the surface, repeat the process in 3-4 feet increments making sure to flatten the material along the way to avoid creating air bubbles/pockets. 6. Repeat the process throughout the rest of the material and use a flexible wall covering smoothing tool (not included) in an upward and downward motion to assure a flat installation and to remove any air bubbles/pockets. 7. Use a soft damp cloth to clean and remove any residue from the adhesive compound. Caution: The adhesive compound is meant to be permanent for the life of the product. It does not remove easily. Adhesive Black velvet border installation 1. Measure the top/bottom and left/right sides of the Insta-DE2 screen to obtain the required length of the velvet border you will need to use for bordering your screen. 2. Peel a small portion off of the velvet border and place it about half an inch over the white area of the screen. Continue to peel off and roll out the remainder of the velvet border until you have reached the end and cut the edge. Note: For best results we recommend cutting the edge in a 45 angle. 3. Repeat the process for the remainder of the sides until all sides are bordered as shown below. Safety Precautions: A. Avoid using sharp objects directly on the screen which can result in permanently damaging the product and voiding your warranty. B. Creases or wrinkles caused by improper installation are not removable. C. The adhesive powder compound (xanthan gum) does not have any biological hazards. Excess of this product therefore can be simply diluted with water and discharged into the sewer.
