2 Selectin f Wrk fr Exhibit 1. Exhibitin facilities are ffered by invitatin f the Gallery Undergrund Exhibitin Cmmittee. Gallery C-Directrs serve as Exhibit Crdinatrs and primary cntact persns. The Executive Directr reserves final apprval f any recmmendatins f the Cmmittee. 2. The Exhibitin Cmmittee shall decide n the suitability f any art, its framing r supprt structure, and any visual r written material that might accmpany an exhibit. The cmmittee will cnsider a wide range f artistic expressin in deciding n ptential exhibitrs. 3. Specifically, the Exhibitin Cmmittee seeks t satisfy the fllwing bjectives in selecting and develping exhibitins: Present a variety f wrks by lcal artists in the visual arts; Help lcal artists increase their public expsure; Prmte art activities thrughut the cunty. 4. Residence in Arlingtn is nt required but may be cnsidered in the selectin prcess. All wrks f art must be ffered fr sale by Gallery Undergrund. N NFS r pre-sld wrks may be hung. 5. Gallery Undergrund prmtes freedm f expressin withut restrictin n cntent r frm. Hwever, in deciding the suitability f any wrk, the Cmmittee is mindful that Gallery Undergrund is a public space, pen t all segments f the cmmunity and all age grups. The views expressed in the wrks exhibited at Gallery Undergrund are thse f the artist and are nt necessarily thse f Gallery Undergrund and its staff. Exhibitin Plicies 1. All wrks f art must be ffered fr sale, with prices established by the Artist. Price list must be submitted t the GALLERY UNDERGROUND within tw weeks f hanging date. Once price list has been submitted, n wrks n list may be sld except thrugh GALLERY UNDERGROUND, and n wrks may be remved frm shw unless sld by GALLERY UNDERGROUND. Wrks in shw must be remved by Artist frm all nline sales sites. GALLERY UNDERGROUND is respnsible fr cnducting the sale f any wrk directly with the purchaser and will add apprpriate state sales tax fr each wrk sld. The Artist shuld NOT include sales tax when pricing their wrks. 2. Artist is permitted t ffer ntecards/greeting cards f their wrk fr sale (these ntecards may have reprductins f Artists wrk) and/r shrinkwraps f Artist s riginal wrk (n giclees, prints r reprductins) fr the duratin f the shw. 30% cmmissin will be taken by GALLERY UNDERGROUND n the sale f all cards and shrinkwraps. Artist is required t prvide prfessinal-lking shrinkwrap bin. 3. Artist will pay $200 (nn-arlingtn Artists Alliance members, inclusive f the nnrefundable $50 applicatin fee) r $150 fr current Arlingtn Artists Alliance members (inclusive f the nn-refundable $50 applicatin fee) fr a ne mnth sl shw. Payment must be made within 2 weeks f ntificatin f acceptance by Gallery. This payment is nn-refundable in the event Artist cancels shw.
3 4. GALLERY UNDERGROUND will take a 30% cmmissin fr nn-arlingtn Artists Alliance members and 20% fr current Arlingtn Artists Alliance members, fr each wrk sld. 5. Artist will be paid fr any wrk sld, by check mailed t artist (nn-gallery member) r direct depsit int Artist s bank accunt (current Arlingtn Artists Alliance r Gallery member), within 30 days f clse f shw. 6. Artist is required t hst a receptin in hnr f their exhibitin n the first Friday f the mnth f shw. Fd and beverage will be paid fr by Gallery. 7. Artist will wrk with GALLERY UNDERGROUND t design pstcards fr the shw (gallery template fr back f pstcard will be used) which will be paid fr by GALLERY UNDERGROUND. 8. GALLERY UNDERGROUND may invite the Artist t participate in a discussin f his r her wrk. GALLERY UNDERGROUND will prmte the exhibitin in many lcal publicatins as well as via email t ur extensive patrns list. Artists are encuraged t prmte their exhibit thrugh their wn scial media, emails and pstcards. 9. ORIGINAL WORKS ONLY; n giclees, prints (including prints that have been painted n) r ther reprductins may be sld at sl shw, except in the case f phtgraphy shws and with the exceptin f ntecards being sld. Phtgraphy, including altered digital phtgraphy and pht cllages, must be based n phtgrapher s wn phts and nt n any cpyrighted wrk. 10. GALLERY UNDERGROUND reserves the right t refuse any art that is nt framed in a prfessinal manner r munted and stabilized fr pedestal display. Gallery-wrapped canvases are acceptable, but must either be framed r have finished edges (edges shuld be painted). All frames, armatures and munting arrangements must be securely cnstructed. Wrk that is fragile in nature r whse framing r display arrangement is f questinable durability may be rejected. The use f clips r spring clips t frame wrk is NOT permitted. 11. Artist must adhere t GALLERY UNDERGROUND plicy as t number f wrks hung in rder t achieve a prfessinal lk, and may nt hang t many pieces which create a wallpaper effect n the walls. Artist agrees that GALLERY UNDERGROUND Directrs reserve the right t limit number f pieces displayed and mve wrks in shw if necessary t achieve a prfessinal lk. 12. Althugh Artist is nt required t hang exact wrks submitted fr jurying, shw must reflect style and theme f wrks submitted fr jurying, and Artist may nt include pieces unrelated t majrity f pieces in shw. 13. The Artist must insure their wn wrk and displays wrk at their wn risk; GALLERY UNDERGROUND will nt be held respnsible fr theft r damage t wrks while they are in the gallery. 14. Permissin t phtgraph and reprduce any wrk accepted in the exhibitin and t use any jpegs prvided by Artist fr publicity purpses including but nt limited t scial media and
4 newspaper and magazine publicatin is cnsidered granted unless therwise stated in writing. 15. GALLERY UNDERGROUND will prvide labels fr each wrk n display. The Artist must submit an inventry f wrks t be exhibited which must include the fllwing fr each piece: title, media, and price. Please nte that the fllwing plicies cntain imprtant deadlines: 16. Within tw weeks f being ntified that a submissin was accepted fr exhibitin and cntract received, Artist must sign and date cntract and return with remaining balance (payment can be made n ur website, r by check mailed t gallery). 17. Within tw weeks f being ntified that a submissin was accepted fr exhibitin, Artist must cntact the Exhibit Crdinatr t arrange r cnfirm the exhibit dates and ther deadlines, especially fr prmtinal purpses. 18. At least tw mnths prir t installatin, Artists must submit a draft f their prmtinal materials including a list f all wrks t be shwn, with media, and retail selling price. The listing must include the Artist s name and telephne number. Artists are als requested t include a brief bigraphy and Artist s statement. 19. At least ne mnth prir t installatin, Artists must have pstcards designed. 20. Artist MUST adhere t hanging and pickup dates designated by GALLERY UNDERGROUND and agreed t in this cntract. GALLERY UNDERGROUND will hang shw if Artist prefers, but wrk must be drpped ff by date specified. Artists are respnsible fr delivering wrks t be exhibited t the Gallery.
