150 Cut With almost three times as many facets as a traditional round ideal cut diamond, the One-Fifty Cut takes a highly skilled diamantaire three times longer to polish. Authenticity From rough crystals to polished perfection our Maple Leaf iamonds are hand selected to meet exacting international standards for clarity, colour and cut. Each diamond is individually selected and then polished by highly trained craftsmen. The polishing is so precise it releases the inner beauty of a rough crystal into an awe inspiring finished polished diamond. Each diamond is tracked from the mine as part of a parcel of rough until it reaches its completion as a polished stone. Once the diamond polishing process is complete it is laser inscribed with the trademarked Maple Leaf iamonds logo and a unique tracking number. Every diamond comes with a certificate of origin assuring you of its Canadian provenance. 21

Canada s large scale diamond mining operations began in 1998 after decades of constant exploration by Canadian geologists. Canada currently has five diamond mines: Ekati, iavik and Gahcho Kué in the Northwest Territories, Victor in Ontario and Renard in Quebec. Their combined production ensures Canada's current position as the third largest diamond producer in the world. The mines are located in some of the world s most extreme environments with vast untouched lands that are the natural habitat for bears, wolverine, and caribou. These and other factors are carefully studied to ensure the mines operate under the most environmentally responsible standards, with the greatest amount of social consciousness and First Nations involvement. 30
