Page 6 Boo k s Since becoming a freelancer in 2001, Steve Davies has written nine books that have been distributed worldwide and have been met with critical acclaim from both military and civilian communities. Steve s books have focused on modern military aviation subjects, and his writing style lends itself to placing the reader in the cockpit of some of the most exciting and advanced military aircraft in the world. No book about modern military aviation would be complete without a solid overview of the technologies and capabilities that enable today s major weapons systems to be so effective. At this, Steve excels. Combined with more than 40 hours of military orientation flights in aircraft that include the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Viper, F/A-18 Hornet, F-5 Tiger and at least a dozen other fast jet and multi engine types, his extensive knowledge of both the technology and terminology used by military aircrew provides him with unique insights into modern military avionics, weapons systems and procedures. Characterised by methodical and uncompromising research, his books rely heavily on pilot, aircrew and manufacturer interviews. It is this trait that has seen him establish a reputation for letting the men and women of the armed forces tell their own story, and for historical accuracy. It is this access and familiarity that allows him to take complex subjects and analyse them in simple terms accessible to all - another hallmark of his writing style. Steve is under contract to write two new books for publication in 2009.
